He has to dive on that train and not come back

It is true though. However it is also true they didnt perform for rafa either. There were games when rafa chose a good strong line up for games and STILL they couldnt show any kind of passion or skill to justify the prices paid for them and the wages they are on.

And the same excuse can be made for the next manager, and I am betting they will be used. Quite simply, the players we have are simply not good enough.

our squad needs a complete clear out. 10 at least...it's going to be like the post-Souness era again and some good players will go along with the bad  :(

Which 10 then, Go on Name them.......... Is this "Your Opinion" or you're mate's from the Chipping Norton Gazette?

Replace the manager or overhaul the squad?

we need to do both...but who do we get in as manager? Kenny would just destablise the squad further. We need a long term vision, but desperate short term measures.

sadly mate i totally agree with you on that!  i said it before, he may have been a legend as a player-but after tonight i have to finally agree with alot of opinions about the whole situation around our club.  you can have an opinion about the players performance & i accept alot of that in their attude etc.

but for me tonight was totally, totally unacceptable! this forum is & should always be about discussion, opinions etc- so here is mine.-

for the first time on this forum i will & mean every word.- Roy Hodgson is out of his depth!! (their i said it) never, never, did i think or even imagine that a manager of the club i love so much would have a more detrimental effect on our history than souness as manager as to how i feel right now would ever rear it's fecking ugly head again-how fecking wrong was i!

souness was a legend of a player & that please believe me is the only reason he didn't get more stick than he deserved! i was at wembley in 1992 when we won the f.A CUP his parting shot he won us a trophy. but anyone & i mean anyone who watched the team week in week out will know what i'm on about here.

tonight 's so called football was fecking heart-breaking to watch for me! fecking hell -when reina got the ball, all he did cause their was nothing else to do was pump it up in the air!

the players looked clueless as to where they were playing, their was no direction,no urgency,no drive,no passion do i need to go on. b0ll0ks to all the bu11sh1t about players haven't played for days-please,please, don't give them a way out! cause tonight -NO PLAYER came out of that game tonight without any creditability!

please let's say it as it is.-for all those who thinks 'the greek' is good, no chance!-he is too s0dding old!-srytell -out of his depth!

johnson-don't get me started on him, turns up when he feels like it!-in-consistant & over-rated.
as for koncheshyte-says it all for me,the likes of barney rubble must dispear like the rest of us who knew what it meant to wear the redf shirt-let alone in the left back posistion.

people champion Lucas, why oh why? i want to hear again from anyone with genuine disscussion, what is your reason. he is in-consistantant proved it again tonight & please be realistic when you think he would get into any other top 4 team, think again! no way would he he.

the rest of the team were no better tonight & that's the main issue, people go about the likes of torres being out of sorts, being lazy etc, i tell you one thing-he may be out of sorts at this moment in time, but if we loose him imho we really, really will be in the sh1t! let alone trying to get top quality to even try to replace the likes of him.

the buck stops with the manager for me! in any time in our history i have never witnessed a period of time-feck all this bu11sh1t about transition-that is just a fecking cheap excuss, that i for one will no longer accept-that the team have been so poorly set up,organised etc. they have no self beleif, have become a totally un-recogniseable team & play so called football that is & never, ever will be & should be asscoited with the Liverpool way.

Pick one mate, I don't think we have the time or the resources to do both at the same time without making the same mistakes again.

I say, sort the coach's position NOW and get rid of the dross players over the next 18 months.

Stop blaming the quality of the  squad, its basically the same way that could have challenged for the title last year if had a manager who could put arm around their shoulders or some respected footy pundits on here kept telling us .

It may not be same quality as money teams so what, that's reality of last few seasons.

Its certainly good enough to beat Wolves at home and while players should take good long hard look at themselves, end of day it comes down to manager.

I would have preferred Roy  to steady the ship until end of season and decisions made during the summer. How this ship needs a new person at the helm right now as we having already hit a couple of icebergs and now are looking down barrell of a tidal wave

lad, the top 4 has moved on and improved a lot...we've gone backwards with the foolish belief that our team is still good enough to challenge for the title.

This side isn't good enough...neither is the squad and the sooner we face up to it the better.

All of these players r signable and if we got the best 4 itd only set us back about 50 mill sell the rest of the dead wood and ur talking about another 70 mill 2 get strikers and sort other problem areas out. Why not completely start again so what if its January i dont believe its a risk coz wed still have that much class we wouldnt get relegated. Or we can wait until summer when afew of the mentioned players will be double the price and we cant steal a march on rivals.

Stop posting like you're using txt-talk, mate...it's headwrecking....but you do make some good points

I would go for:

Glen Johnson
Paul Konchesky
Daniel Agger - Too injury prone, by the time he finds his form to show his class, he is injured again.
Fabio Aurelio - Same as above
Fernando Torres - He has been poor for far too long and performs very rarely. We all know what he can do so it is criminal that he is one of the clubs top earners, and can walk into the first team every time knowing he has no competition and show not a jot of passion. On form one of the best in the world, off form, just awful.
Joe Cole - Chelsea knew something we didnt. I was over the moon when we signed him, regretting it now.
Milan Jovanovic
Ryan Babel
Maxi Rodriguez - too inconsistent
Ryan Babel
Christian Poulsen
Martin Skrtel

And not so much get rid but play less and get a replacement for, Jamie Carragher.

Of the younger players, Kelly looks like the only truly promising player capable of breaking into the team which sums up the state of our youth system.

I'd keep Cole and Agger...but the rest can go.

very much agree with your assessment buddy

very very disappointed with Torres lately,  really am, I thought he was loyal bloke who would show at least a bit fight in him, but he doesn't look like he wants to be here anymore.

I mentioned Babel twice ! I will go for the "twice as bad" reason ! :D
