Ta chaps - Going from what everyone was saying tonight and Portsmouth's
upturn in form, we might have a tough one on Saturday at their place.

He is indeed - scoring goals as well as looking a good player - maybe rafa was right afterall about him and looking like a very well spent 1.5 mil at the moment .

Rafa will NEVER play Torres and Ngog up-front together, not a chance. It's just not his way to play to out and out frontmen.

Maybe so. Either way, I think N'gog is surprising a few people and doesn't look half bad to be honest. He's scoring goals, which is what's required and for 1.5 million, not a bad buy at all. Great to see he's knocked Voronin out of the squad.

Yeah, he's deffo got some good qualities about him, some nice touches, a few good finishes and he seems to have adapted quite quickly to the physical side (something he wasn't able to do early doors) but he still (for me) is a 3rd (not a 2nd) striker, the lad you bring through for the future.

Ive kept it quite, but i have always been a fan of n'gog. Since his first goal in the friendly against rangers, there was something about him that made me think he has great potential. Im hoping he can keep going. fair play to the lad.

Wouldn't have mattered. He cut across the box from the left of the pitch and no one dared risk a tackle, not even a block at the strike. When confidence is down, no one is willing to take the plung and risk being ridiculed. There was no evidence there of any player willing to put his body on the line there for the team. It's p*ssing me clean off. Today we might have gotten away with the three points, but individual performances and overall performance of the side are just as important in the long run. If that doesn't improve, then expect more draws and defeats.

I am just happy we won mate, maybe we didn't play great but we got three points which is more than enough for me at the moment.

I'm more relieved than happy TBH. I'll be more at ease if we can build a run, which is the main problem this season. We were a mixed bag tonight when we really should have put Wigan to the sword. The next two games are fairly straight forward. Let's hope we both get good performances, and good results, because that will be extremely important to breaking up this voodoo we're in.

I think he just needs to get adjusted to the pace of the game.  At times it looked like he wasn't expecting any pressure and was a little too relaxed on the ball then got it taken away but he'll learn he doesn't have that kind of time here.  I still think he's class and with time he'll get used to the differences here.  He's too good to be sitting on the bench still mad Rafa didn't start him but we won so it's okay for now.  He has to find ways to get this guy out there playing though.

That's why it is vital Gerrard plays deeper as he can track back and play the defensive role better.

I have high hopes for him though

There has been a few others that have backed him mate - think its only the minority who have slated him - first becuase he didnt score goals and now its becuase he only scores taps and against weaker teams
