Lets be a bit more positive - maybe just maybe we could easily win this . Stranger things have happened in football you know .

As been stated it is a strong line up and one good enough to beat Wigan . Torres was dead on his feet after 50 mins on sunday and was obviously not fully ready yet

Feck me, Rafa really does make it hard for himself.

I can easily see why he's put Torres on the bench (coming back from injury) but Aqua man I just don't get.
He's consistently proclaimed how good Aquaman is and that we(the fans) will be made up with him but then he goes and does a Robbie Keane on him.
Will Aquaman be going back to Roma come New Year? ???

Rafa man sort yerself out!!

"Are Liverpool going to be asked by the FA to explain leaving Torres and Aquilani on the bench?"

Yes I must confess I think it's fair enough as well. There's every chance Torres isn't capable of playing two games in a week at the moment, playing him and injuring him would be daft.

Aquilani is a stranger one for me though. His transfer is begining to have a whiff of Keanegate about it to me. Either he is taking a ridiculously long time to get fit, or the manager has taken a look at him in training and thought "oops!" (I agree with him as I don't fancy Aquilani myself but anyway).

How you can pay 20 million quid for a player and then not be able to find a slot for him when we've won 3 out of our last 15 matches is beyond me completely.

Yes Gerrard is pretty mainly going to play linking up with torres . The same position where he has had two outstanding seasons - pretty much his best seasons for us .

Putting them in the middle together ??? who sits and holds then .

The fecking idea is you play them both with Mach as the holding player.

With torres up top in a 4-5-1 type position not in a 4-4-2 where they are both in the middle . Many people have been crying asking for gerrard to be put back in the middle well there you go he is - alongside masher like everyone aksed - now if torres was fit then aquaman would of played instead of Ngog and aurelio would of moved back to left back and insua missing out but without torres there it seems Rafa is going for 4-4-2 which is another thing everyone wanted - there for negatting bringing in aquaman .

It's an odd decision, but that said we'll absolutely murder these. I expect that now we've broken up the Lucas/Masherano axis we'll see the difference within about 10 minutes of the match starting. Gerrard will get forward, the team will have balance, Mash will sit in and do what he does and we'll hammer wigan out of sight. We hammered everyone out of sight when we previously dropped Gerrard into central midfield.

Next game though we'll probably give the axis one more try just to see if it really will work.

Think about it serious though people , Stevie is only affective in that role he plays when he is playing with Fernando in front of him, So he has put him back in the middle instead of Lucas, Javier Holding an Stevie pushing on, I am quite happy with it cant see a problem tbh,

One thing that occurred to me the other day was is the deal we got him on a pay as he plays deal i.e.we pay Roma more money for the appearances he makes.

I know that deals have instalments based on appearances and that they're usually based on blocks of games but you never know with the way things are so fecked up with us at the mo, we might be paying per appearance.  ???
