Hmmm... i like the idea but he hasn't really shined in his last few games.

In all fairness to him a game against West Ham will suit him far better than a European tie. He doesn't really get to show his tackling and tenacity that he showed for Chalrton when in Europe.

Might as well give him a chance but I have no confidence in him at all, has shown zero so far.

BBC reports -

"Reds boss Roy Hodgson did receive some good news on the injury front when it came to strikers Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt as well as defenders Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson.

Torres played the second half of Spain's defeat by Portugal after picking up an ankle injury last Saturday in the loss at Stoke.
Netherlands international Kuyt, Slovakia centre-back Skrtel and England right-back Johnson did not go on international duty as they recovered from injury and all four should be fit to face West Ham.

"We have a good relationship with the Spanish medical staff," said Brukner. "They assessed him [Torres] and he had a good day or two of treatment over there and didn't train.

"They felt he was okay to play 45 minutes [against Portugal] and he came through that OK. We fully expect him to be fine for the weekend.

"Dirk is coming back after a pretty severe ankle injury. We were pleased to get him back after only three weeks but he then played three games in a week so he was a little bit sore.

"We discussed it with Dirk and the Dutch team and agreed it would probably not be a good idea for him to play, so he sat out the Netherlands game.

"Martin got a knock against Stoke which wasn't too bad but we thought it wasn't a good idea for him to travel and play an international. But all three of these players will be fine for West Ham on Saturday.

"Glen is also available for selection. He's been training all week at Melwood and he's ready to play."

So actually Kuyt, Skrtel and Johnson are available.

I just think he has been unlucky being thrown into his first matches in Europe. The kid has only ever known English league football.

It takes some senior players years to adapt to the European style of football. Gerrard himself wasn't turning heads when he first ran out in the UEFA cup, and he would of been older than 18!

He deserves a chance. And FWIW I have seen more potential in Shelvey than I have in Jovanovic.

Think Roy will play:
                                                Reina
               Johnson             Skrtel           Carra              Konchesky

                                     Poulsen         Meireles

                Kuyt                                                         Maxi/ Cole?

                                        Ngog            Torres

Would like to see

                                                Reina
               Johnson             Skrtel           Greek              Aurelio(Sorely Missed)

                                     Shelvey         Meireles

                Kuyt/Maxi                                                  Jova/Babel
                                              Cole?/Kuyt

                                                 Torres
Would like to see us play some good, attacking high tempo football and get a 3-0 win. Can, however, see a dissapointing 1-1 happening. Just want to see us winning....

                                                     :(

On my 18th Birthday, i went to butlins adult weekend 2 years ago and we beat bolton 2-0, Kuyt and Gerrard.

On my 19th Birthday, i went to butlins adult weekend 1 year ago and we beat Everton 2-0, Mashcerano/own goal, and Kuyt.

Today i am off again for my 20th, so it's only right that i go for a 2-0 Liverpool win with Kuyt getting on the scoresheet again!

Up the red men! :D
