A joke and an insult?  If Igor's source is to be believed, we have our regular keeper, our regular RB, one of our starting CBs, an able deputy CB, a promising youngster at LB, an experienced and talented campaigner at LM, one of our regular CMs (who you rate more than most), a new CM who you applauded the signing of, our regular RM, our regular ACM and our current top scorer up top as striker.  How is this line-up the travesty you make it out to be? ???

I agree with Bob ,RBG mate . Plus Roy doesn't have much choice anyhow. That team will be set up to be tight defensively and hopefully get a goal on the counter . Exactly how rafa would have set them up imo .

Agreed BB,  We have one of the biggest (in terms of #s') squads in the premiership and these players have to be given a chance.  We have about 6 or 7 full internationals in the lineup so its not chicken scratch.  A less than full squad but not a joke or insult.

Could the manager play any other line up ? Don't think so . Without Agger, Gerrard , Torres and Masher that is pretty much all we have left , prob only person who could of played is Babel

David Amoo is an option on the right, too bad he didn't make the squad.  It would be nice to have an attacking option like him on the subs bench.  I thought he looked very dangerous in preseason.

RBG its reality check time mate.

Anyone who thinks we're gonna be top 4 is naive. Top 4 with 80 odd points means 2.1 pts per game.... this season... oh barf.......

And our marvellous travelling fans - safe your money this year, theres no point throwing good money after bad. If the owners arent willing to invest then dont waste hard earned cash.

Its a disgrace Reg ... and for someone that usually lists patience and understanding as two of my virtues ....I am at a loss to explain the impending anger I am now showing
I am slowly watching the Club I love losing all the values it once held dear ...its like watching a much loved relatives life gradually ebbing away before your  eyes...... slowly deteriorating as you watch helplessly .... and I cant stay dispassionate any longer, Ive tried mate ...... I cant stand by and watch it die ....whilst biting down on my tongue .....I know its not the managers fault he has been given an obvious list of priorities with Top Four a must,
But Rafa at least had a tendency to buck the trend .....
I got the distinct impression it was his team and not the Owners and their ghouls ....... I am starting to believe the manager now doesn't show that strength of conviction ...... a cups a cup Reg and in this case it would play a huge part in lifting the gloom if we went all out to win the fucking thing

Truthfully ........ ???  Torres , and Gerrard plus Agger omitted with concussion (but was fit to play on Monday night ) ... Rodriguez suddenly goes down with a mysterious injury ...and in the renowned and fabled words of Jim Royal "Torres tired ....Gerrard bad back  ....my arse "
You play your strongest team......  end off 
I am more perplexed with the fans who consider this cup an annoyance  ... but still ...it only serves to heighten my sense of anxiety for the future of this once great club .... like I said disappointed.... and I cant see my mood altering in any respect especially not tonight .
