It's got f*ck all to do with Lucas, and everything to do with our home form this season. As I've said a dozen times before, it's our away mentallity that's crippling us this season. When we start putting in this kind of performance on occasion away from home, that's when you know the corner has been turned.

Our home record IS pretty good mate, but our home performances have been pretty poor ....... this is as good as we have played all season . Gerrard in midfield with players to aim for and some great interpassing and actual MOVEMENT.

I am not blaming Lucas, but if you can't see the difference today you may need to visit the opticians mate    :D

WTF, you put THIS team out on the park WHEREVER you go and you are a step ahead of a team with Lucas in it.

NO the season is not his fault ... but you are only as good as your weakest link

Yeah, because one player obviously destroys and stiffles the whole sde. Get a grip and a clue ffs! Lucas has been a feature in our home line-ups this season and our home form has been solid. We've lost the MAJORITY of our away games.

You didn't miss much...

Only a fantastic, genius goal from Torres, some beautiful one touch-short passing football with some 6 clear chances.  :p

I think Kuyt is playing on the right Woof ?

I think you might be right mate. He started down the right, but has moved inside now.

Never mind mate, you can always blame Rafa .   :D

Maybe the best (most confident) performance we've had this season. Obviously Nando's wonder goal settled us but Gerrard and Masch in midfield is (for me at least) the perfect partnership, making a world of difference.

That's a better goal than Alan Shearer's top corner goal... only it's not from a set piece.

True, S@int, but my argument is not for performances as we were poor home and away, but grinding out results at home regardless. I'm also in agreement that Lucas and Mascherano should not be on the same teamsheet unless it's at a tough away venue, then it can be excused. But to lump all the blame on Lucas for our shoddy form this season is stretching it too far and incredibly harsh, especially when he's been better than Gerrard et'al for a lot of those poor performances.

ohhhhhhh do feck off. 2-0 up playing fab football but you still find a way to blame Rafa?

your right, for once Rafa is not to blame for the way we are playing......as he did not have much input into the team this week as he has been doing "other things" (but must say that is only based on what was said on ssn last night so it might be wrong)

lets hope we are just as good in the 2nd half.

It's the most refreshing performance I have seen from us all season.I'd like to see Aqualani in the whole behind Fernando instead of Dirk

There is no hole. It's a flat 4-4-2. We just look so balanced with this formation. Hope Rafa's just not expirimenting with it and decides to used it more often.

Answer this - is this not the best performance (so far) you've seen - home OR away ??

Now we all have opinions you dont need to get narky with me - which top side in the world would Lucas fit into ??? Any ???

Gerrard is the crucial link between midfield and attack today, you don't get that from Lucas.

He's not a creative player, he's a Kuyt type player who runs around a lot and makes a nuisance of himself...sadly that's all he does.
