Liverpool Football Club - Games

I agree we've been done and dusted with UCL no need go strong in final game, not like we going to win something being first.

Anyhow should've put that game to bed.We did well though haulting Lille unbeaten run. Chiesa looked good but needs more game time.

Slot needs to sub off Salah when not required, he rarely takes him off.

We've got Bournemouth Away in a few days after PSV match, I'm hoping we heavily rotate for the final ucl group game.

Solid win against a good team who have beaten the likes of Real and Atletico Madrid. The contest ended up being a lot tighter than it should have been due to us missing some really good chances but we got there in the end. Chiesa is really starting to impress, he doesnt eff around he's direct as eff, if an opportunity presents itself he'll have a crack and 9 times out of 10 the shot will be low, hard and either on target or just wide, he's not one of these balloon it into row z jobs. Good to see him getting really involved in the goal celebrations lately too.

Got to tip my hat to Lille, they gave us a game. First half I found myself thinking "thank Christ this is at home" as in early stages we looked like the away team .
Deserved win for us although Elliots goal via a wicked deflection was more luck than intention.

Just read that a win in the CL group stages equals to 2.1m euros, while a draw is only 700k, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see a strong team even in the final game.

I like his attitude Yakka. He is desperate to get involved. Could turn out to be bargain basement !!

I agree with you guys, I still have a lot of confidence (and hope) that Chiesa will work out. He seems genuinely very motivated and determined. I like the lad.

You can tell a lot by goal celebrations, when Gerrard scored that ridiculous long range screamer against West Ham in the FA Cup final the first player to him was Kronkamp and you could tell he was reticent to throw his arms around Gerrard, probably because he barely knew him, it wasnt until the likes of Riise and the rest of Gerrard's mates got there that Stevie got mobbed.
I've noticed lately that if Chiesa is on the pitch when we score he is always right in the middle of the celebrations, he seems very pally with everyone. Obviously him having a reputation as a top, top player helps on that score, top players want to be friends with other top players and even if Freddy does turn out to be a sh.1t signing it wont be because he is a sh.1t player and always was a sh.1t player it will be because that cruellest of mistresses - injury - will have effed another top athlete over.
There are literally thousands and thousands of pro football players plying their trade in Europe at a variety of different levels, in his prime a few years ago Chiesa was probably amongst the top 10 best players playing on this continent. He did for Italy when they won the Euro's 4 or 5 years ago what Maradona did for Argentina back in 86. Italy is a serious footballing nation, home to some of the greatest clubs in existence [AC Milan, Juventus, Internazionale etc] and just 1 win behind Brazil in terms of World Cup's, until he got injured Freddy wasnt just the best Italian player he was the best player playing in italy full stop, he is a serious baller, if our medical department can work the oracle on this fella and the early signs are promising the sky really will be the limit.
