Tell us something we don't know?

apparently rafa doesn't know that

Zonal marking works, but only when everyone looks after their designated zone. Im not sure who was meant to be picking up Davies there but im guessing Skrtel. We have stifled some of the best teams in Europe with zonal marking so you can't turn around all the time and blame that.

Could it be that the CB's we have are just not good enough?

I hope Agger gets well quick.

I've stuck up for Lucas in the past, And I'm still holding some sort of hope that he can become a decent player for us.  But.  Wow, he has just had a howler of a first half.

Maybe we'd have been better off if he'd gotten a yellow card on his first foul and he'd have been more cautious and not committed the silly foul that led to the goal (oh, yeah, his own goal btw).  Lucas has been a comedy of errors in this half.  I did like how he tried to make it all better with the spin move in his own half of the field.  Imagine if that went wrong and led to another chance against.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

We are def not being outrun in MF! On the contrary we are controlling MF but have been poor in the final third after the intial flourish...

Villa are playing with 5 midfielders and 1 striker , negative but they are aiming for set pieces and so far they have gotten 2 goals from their set pieces .

Therein lies another problem. We can't do much to change this except shuffle those already playing or maybe introduce Riera.

Expecting a far better performance this half but I can't see us taking all 3, a draw right now would be great and given the chances we had in the opening 15 minutes, that's an awful thing to be saying.

2-0, eh? F*ck sake.

It was 1-0 and the performance was inducing a bowl movement, so I got up to take a sh*t. Turns out they scored during. Great.

Midfield has to move the ball inorder for stevie and torres to do anything , gerrard and torres have had nothing to work off . Stevie has to drop back into midfield to help out , whats the point of having 2 central midfielders when our 2nd striker has to drop back and help out . At this rate , forgot the premier league , lets hope we can even stay in the top 10 , disgraceful performance and i feel bad for the fans who paid to watch this 1st half . I'd take off lucas , throw stevie back there , push yossi onto the right , bring riera on and kuyt uptop

Nope. Gerrard's game begins behind Torres, which means he drops off into MF depending on the flow of the game...

He is not a striker, Torres is our lone striker! SG is our advanced MF playing behind Torres...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Ill tell you all 1 thing, firtly I think long term we will be ok once Aquilani is fit but should we get any other big time injuries our lack of strength in depth will really hurt us. Especially with the teams around us getting stronger.

It's a very poor second to picking up the man though Bav.

It's been consistently bad for us on set pieces.

Sounds good to me, this ones not over yet Villa are very fragile and are no good at slowing it down and keeping possesion, if we make the correct changes we can turn it around.

Just cannot get me head round how poor we've looked at times, not just tonight but against the decent quality teams we've played in pre-season as well. The team looks devoid of any creativity a lot of the time and defensively we look as strong as a chocolate fire guard. It seriously can't all be down to losing Alonso as we did okay last season when he didn't play.
I know a lot will be eager to point the finger at Lucas but the problems seem to go deeper than just one player.

We've got a mountain to climb to rescue anything out of this game cause you can bet your bottom dollar (or twit 'n tw@t will bet OUR bottom dollar  :p ) that MON is gonna have the villa team bus parked on that goal line for the second half. Other than Riera I just can't see anything on the bench that can dig us out of this hole. Lets hope the ref starts giving us some dodgy decisions just like he's been giving Villa all night.

Some of you moaning might be better off supporting Citeh?

Ok, we are pretty poor, but maybe this is the nudge the w@nkers upstairs need to give us funds for VDV or someone... plus, if we could do it in Istanbul this should be a breeze

Mate he has to drop back but he's playing too deep almost at the half way line at times . 45 minutes to turn it around , we have done it before but i doubt we will today . 3 games played , 2 losses .
