Time to give some of the fringe players a try out in this match, let's get some of the u21's back in, Lambert needs to start as well

As much as i think we need to be trying players and alternative systems in this match i would like to see us win it, a good run in the cup would be good for morale

These knocked us out of this competition at Anfield at the same stage almost exactly 2 years to the day. I seem to remember they absolutely ripped us to shreds on the break with the likes of Dyer and Routledge.
I'd like to see us put out a decent side for this one, we got knocked out early last year by United and we haven't really had a decent cup run of any kind under Brendan so I'd like to see us give this a proper go. Let's face it we are not gonna win the CL or the league so this could be our best chance of silverware.

Your right mate, this is probably our best shout at winning a trophy this season, i was actually at the match 2 years ago your talking about and was a real shambles with fat Joe Cole strolling around and taking a lot of stick

Am in agreement about a strong team but would really like to see Lambert start and also young Jordan Rossiter who was really good in the previous round against Boro

Sorry league cup fans, I've never rated this competition and never will.

Play fringe players and those looking for confidence and fitness.

its against swansea so he might not want to lose this one so could field a strong enough team.
will he drop gerrrad ? imo he should rest him.
for me though he has got to take the cotton wool off markovich and throw him on at the start

Don't care about this cup so mixed squad for me:

                                Mignolet

           Johnson     Toure     Lovren     Enrique

                                 Lucas
                           Can         Allen

                              Coutinho

                      Lambert    Balotelli

Have we tried a Lambert-Balotelli partnership so far? Apart from the last match I mean. I know it seems silly since an attack like that might be a bit too slow, but it looked OK vs Hull so we might as well give it a try. I'd also like to experiment with Sterling in attack at some point in the game, with either of the two strikes as his partner.

Swansea are playing some good stuff this season and they knocked the bitters out in the last round. I wouldn't be surprised if we go out tonight considering the s.*i*e we have played this season. I would love us to win this trophy this season as a day out at Wembley is always welcomed. But I am being realistic

I wouldn't throw this game considering it might be our only chance playing in Europe next year....

Just a thought, how bad would it be if we went out of all the cups early after signing nine squad players this summer?

Not sure why anyone would not care about this competition.
It's one that over the years we have done well in and is still a strophy.
I've been to two final wins myself over the years and they were great days out.

Brendan for me should be looking to win a first trophy and while Swansea are not by any means an easy draw, we are at home so should be winning.
Get a strong side out and get through to the next round.

Am I right in saying the next round is the quarter final or is there one other game ?
