Good overall performance. Gerrard was bossing the game, Cole looked sharp too. Cole is going to be a massive player for us this season provided he stays fit. Also was it just me or did Aquilani look like he had a bit more spring in his step tonight? Was also impressed with Kelly.

Caverlli - 5 - nothing to do

Johnson -7- Good link up play
Carra- 5- Nothing to do
Skrtel -5- Nothing to do
Kelly -9- Outstanding for me both going forward and his clearance

Lucas 7- solid and steady
Gerrard - 7  solid and steady

Pacheco -8- Involved in most of the good stuff - needs to pick better options when in box
Cole - 8 - Looked very good when drifting out wide and delivered some great crosses - linked up very well with gerrard and pacheco
Jova -7 - Worked all night long and steady on the ball

Ngog -8- Scored one - made penalty , shoulf of had two more at least and set up another for gerrard

Subs - All fitted in nicely when they came on

Overall a decent solid performance with patches of some lovely play - we created a fair number of chances which is good to see . Not tested much at all at the back . Result should give us some confidence going into the new season but the next game will be a massive step up but some good signs . Crowd was pretty muted but i think they realised it was a dead rubber game really

N'gog looked pretty good tonight, a goal, drew a penalty and should have had another.  He's 21, cost 1.5 mil. and looks like if he doesn't make it at Liverpool, he'll at least make a good return on the investment.

That was an OK game.Gerrard was the great captain he should always be, Cole looks verry well hoping that he'll stay fit.Kelly was great with his game and that ball he cought. It just isnt fair how most of the standard players played this game rather than the one in Skopje :(.It would have been great to see Cole, Gerrard, Carra and the rest in the Liverpool shirt in life.Hope they come here again some day :).

agree with most of your ratings but have to give gerrard the motm - and the highest rating, he didn't put a foot wrong and was opening up their defense with some devilish passes.  Kelly for me was more of a 6 or 7 he had chances to pass w/ his left that would have put players through but didn't use it.

Enjoyed that game first time in a very, very long time I have, Steven Gerrard is just feckin amazing theres nothing more to be said best player in the world when hes on form.
Joe Cole was excellent pity he couldnt finish his performance off with a goal.
Well done redmen keep it up Roy.

Now the hard work starts b@stard internationals  :no

Really ?! Did you not see gerrards passing tonight ? you could tell he was rusty - he just had a normal game where as kelly was impressive throughout

I think Cole was clearly better than Pacheco.  Pacheco was frustrating imo. Waaay to often he had it taken off him, or unsuccessfully tried going around people.  Cole was every, much tidier, provided the cross for the goal, helped out in defense on a couple of occasions

International federations trying to cash in on teams performances after world cup - hence why the england tickets are going cheap
