Nice touch by Brendan to pull Downing away from the handshakes and have him approach the Kop while patting Downing on the chest.

Decent performance against a good team. Deserved the win and in truth we made it more difficult than we should have done. We are very much a work in progress, for instance, our link up play in the oppositions half remains poor and we never take advantage of a break away, however some of our newer and younger players look very promising. Assaidi in particular was very exciting tonight, he makes intelligent runs, he sees other players runs and he's composed on the ball.

So we won right? Fell asleep in the last 15 minutes.

No mate we lost 2-1

Pretty poor game with the odd moment of quality trying to sneak through. It's a win but will need a lot better for Sunday ! A lot better.

Anyway, saw Agger's disallowed goal. I think that's a regular goal. The goalie should be holding the ball with his two hands and if he's not, a player is allowed to take it from him like Agger did.
