EVERTON VS LIVERPOOL - 17 oct 2010, ko: 13:30

Liverpool Football Club - Games

It's a difficult one as we've got a couple of injuries and unfortunately the squad has little or no cover. His options for the right appear to be Babel, Maxi, Mereiles (although I wouldn't play him there myself), Johnson, Gerrard or maybe even Pacheco.

Personally I'd go with Johnson, but there is hardly an outstanding contender there lets be honest. I'm certainly not going to join in with the posse getting their pre-emptive "I told you so's" in so they are nicely covered should we lose.

It would be nice if on the back of a fairly tumultuous week by any standards if people could possibly back off and resolve to perhaps support the team and the manager until Christmas even, but unfortunately even that is too much to ask. Such a shame.

Give the "support the team and manager " line a rest for a while - we all support the team and manager - doesnt mean we arent allowed to critisize the manager .

yeah but maybe dont critisize the managers formation for a game that isnt going to be played for another 3 days ffs.

theres critisism and theres being a douche

If he plays Mereiles on the right and it dont work out, then after that we can critisize, on a thursday evening before anyone knows whats happening when and where we can only say what wed like

It's a discussion on the upcoming game - and I used the word IF . And stand by initial statement .

Would be an interesting choice, see what he can do there I suppose, wed be awesome in the centre but it would be a lot of pressure on Johnson

We've actually got a football match this Sunday! Got so tied up watching Rumpole I almost forgot. It would be a great boost to get the ownership saga tied up before this game, a real boost to the fans and a chance for the players to go out and play football without any other question marks hanging over the club. Fook knows how we're gonna play, it's not been great so far. MASSIVE MASSIVE game for Hodgson. It could turn our season or pretty much bury him. The new owners will talk about patience, some fans will say hold on till Christmas but the truth is that the spotlight will be shining exclusively on our manager once the sorry ownership saga reaches it's conclusion. We'll find out very quickly if he can handle it. Fingers crossed he does.

In terms of how we set up on Sunday. I'd love to see Gerrard and Mereilles (please not on the right) in the middle together, play Cole behind Torres, jonno on the right is actually a good shout i think (won't happen mind) with Jovanovic on the left. I suspect we will see Maxi on the right, Cole on the left with either Poulsen or Lucas playing with Mereilles and Gerrard behind Torres.

Scott going by what ben posted is the line up which shows both Lucas and poulsen playing which for me means Merieles on the right , gerrard behind Torres and cole of the left . I hope it's not the line up and Poulsen is sat on the bench - in fact would rather the stands - have Merieles in the middle with Lucas , bring in Jovanovic on left and Cole out right .

Not read back any of the posts in the thread bar this page dude. Fingers crossed it's off the mark, Mereilles is lost on the right however, he looks like he could be a cracking little player in the middle of the park. A good piece of business but you've gotta play him where he's supposed to play Roy. Please!
