Crystal Palace v Liverpool Sat 5th October, Selhurst Park

Liverpool Football Club - Games

More of the same please, lads.
Dunno if Elliott is back for this, be nice to see him get some minutes and give maybe Szobo a breather.
They've only scored 5 goals so far this season so our defence shouldn't be too troubled.
But this lot has been a bogey team over the years.
Maybe have a cheeky chat with Eze and line him up for January?

Got some big games coming up so we need to see sensible team selection and early subs once we score. Game management.

Always a bit of a banana skin game for us agonists Palace.

Interesting to see a bit of squad rotation, let’s hope it’s enough for a win.

I’m going for a 1-3 to the mighty reds.

This lot are often very tricky. They’ve had a poor start to the season and will be looking to make amends. We need to take absolutely nothing for granted. Slot’s changes look interesting. Tsimikas and Jones need to give Slot a future selection headache.

I was wondering when we'd get our first early kick-off after a European midweek game. These fixtures have been a bit of a nemesis of ours over the years. Jurgen hated them.
If you lose it ruins your entire weekend, draws aren't much better either. On the positive side of the ledger sheet these games are a great opportunity to pile a little bit of pressure onto your rivals, nothing better than sitting back all weekend watching how your rivals do knowing you've already got the 3 points in the bag. Hard to overlook the fact we usually look like we've just got out of bed though with players wandering around half asleep for half the game so lets hope we are at it from the start for a change. Dont wanna be knocked off top spot by this lot.
Come on you red men!! International breaks are ***** enough without going into one off the back of a loss.

That was a terrific first half performance, the only negative is that its only 1-0 and we saw with Ally's save right at the end of the half just how fragile a 1 nil lead is.
Personally i'd take Jota off, i know he's scored but he's also been booked and he can be a bit clumsy in the tackle, he has a habit of standing on defenders calves and the back of their heels when he's trying to chase them down from behind.

FT Palace 0-1 Liverpool

The goal is to keep accumulating the points until the rest feel the pain :buttrock

Good result but we don’t do easy !! Gravenberch continues to be very impressive. Shame about Ali considering the fixtures we’ve got coming !!

1st half was so good, Instead of being my usual self , glued to the screen,  I was so comfortable midway through I went to the bog for a dump, fully expecting to hear the TV announcing another goal from our lads.  :)

Not sure what happened in the second half  :( . It ended up looking  like we scrapped a win   :( .

Won't moan, we got the three points  :buttrock

3 points in the bag and yet another clean sheet. I really hope a new contract for Virgil is coming soon because even at this age he's clearly still the best defender in the league.

In the first half I really liked our midfield, with Jones and MacAlister constantly swapping the CM and AM positions between each other. IMO that was the reason why we seemed so good in the first half so I hope to see that combo again in the future. Gravenberch excellent again of course. Gakpo is another that deserves praise. He was good today and has been playing well this season when given the chance.

If there is one complaint I have about Alisson is that he gets injured too often, and his proneness to injury seems to be getting worse as he ages. Thankfully we usually have Kelleher. Where was he today anyway? Also injured?

That was a very uncomfortable second half when it shouldnt have been, Jota and Mo missed great chances to put that game to bed and it very nearly cost us, good job both of our keepers were on their toes.
9 wins in 10 games now for Arne, lets see how everyone else gets on.

That must have been a very long dump mate, need to get that checked out  :D
Very profligate in the second half. On a couple of occasions the shot opened up in front of Szobo and bizarrely he didn't take it on. He could have had two today.
Jota should have got another, Mo out of sorts again.
The drop in form of Robbo is a big concern. Antonee Robinson in January for that position? Good player.
I still think we need another striker
