CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL - Defining moment of this season

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Bammo » Sun Oct 04, 2009 4:55 pm

The ref is appalling. Every decision goes Chelsea's way. Typical example was Kuyt getting body checked - no foul, then 5 seconds later Masch wins the ball - foul.

We're looking threatening when we get down the flanks as it's too congested to pass through the centre.

And as for Efan Ekoku, the guy is an idiot. Last season he slated Agger for not being good in the final 3rd (obviously crucial for a centre back) then 5 mins later Dagger scored a 30 yard screamer. Today it's not a penalty when Drogba pulls Skrtel because he "should be expecting that". That's not how the laws of the game work, you complete retard.

If ever a premier league kunts 11 was produced, Drogba would be captain and first on the list.

What a horrible horrible waste of air he is

This is as comfortable as I can remember us looking at Stamford Bridge.  Mascherano has been immense so far and we are keeping possession well when we get it.  We have a chance to nick it here, no doubt.  Carragher and Skrtel have actually looked quite solid so far, but set pieces against us are still the worry.

0-0 at halftime isnt a bad result at all.. chance for Rafa to reconsider how to take it from here on

any suggestions then?

Bring agger on for Lucas and play three at the back with Agger as the spare man moving forward when we are in possession ? :p

Yep.. Mascherano deffo the best player on the pitch for us in that 1st half... been breaking up play brilliantly... Skrtel and Carra doing pretty okay too, bailed the fullbacks out a few times and looked good whenever Chelsea tried to hit us on the counter....

A litttle concerned with Riera, if it carries on as it is im sure he'll be the first to come off... Kuyt needs to try and run at Cole a little more too, if not then surely bringing Babel on a little later on wouldnt be such a bad idea...

What wingers?

Chelsea are playing a diamond, very narrow.  Their only width has come from Cole down the left and Drogba when he has pulled out to their right flank.  We're playing exactly the right way to counter their diamond... our full backs are tucking in so there is no spaces to thread balls through our inside left and inside right.

If Ancelloti is wise he'll pull Anelka out to one of the flanks to open it up a bit, he's had nothing so far playing centrally.

Yeah I'm actually quite surprised Riera is not having any luck on Ivanovic he is defending him pretty well.
