Article by a well respected reds writer reckons and has good knowledge that Aquilani wasn't upto the challene of English football. :p

i read a very interesting article written by excellent red writer Chris McLoughlin. it referes to Aquilani's 1st season with the club.

apparently the club knew that he would be ruled out of at least the 1st 14 games of the season with his ankle injury, but, seemingly he was ruled out of the trip to fulham because he claimed to have a virus, he pulled out of the trip to pompey in december claiming to have calf problem ( in which case the club sent him to belgrade to see placenta doctor marijana kovacevic who found no problem.) then he ruled himself out of the trip to arsenal in february claiming to be ill again, a month later he missed the europa league game with Lille claiming to have a stomach bug, and was then ruled out of the trip to benfica claiming to have another ankle injury.

the liverpool medical team were unable to find anything wrong with his ankle and it was at this stage rafa questioned the players pain threshold and attitude in public.

in an interview rafa said: "we dont know if he needs an operation. he claims to have pain in the ankle so we will have to let the doctor look at it again, some players can cope with pain others cannot. when you talk of pain it is difficult because some players are clearly different to others.".

the day after rafa's comments Aquilani declared himself fit for the forth coming trip to birmingham.

after that he claimed 3 out of 4 assists at burnley and scored against A Madrid in the europa semi final.

however, the outlay at present for Aquilani £12.9m ( he's made 28 appearances but only 3 have been full 90 minute performances) and next summer we have to pay a further £4.3m taking the fee up to a STAGGERING £17.2m.

as well as that 5% off his potential sale off £13m (if juve buy him) must be paid to giallorossi it means that he will have cost us £4.85m.

according to McLoughlin the same excuses and same attitude was shown by Aquilani during pre-season in which Hodgson was told of what went on before and decided that he would be allowed out to juve on loan.

interesting if true!!!

Oh and btw get off your high horse with Aquilani he's gone and isn't coming back.

Yeah this is tragic.

Time and time again, everytime I watch Liverpool these days I just get frustrated. They keep making mindless balls, giving it away, they cannot play it on the ground, and they create nothing. It's absolutely tragic.

as we seem unable to pass we need to get someone on who will at least try and take the defenders on instead like jovanovic

we're gonna beat them 2-0.
we'll hit them on the break out of the blue, and when they finally decide to throw players forward we'll hit the nail on the coffin and score the second. :buttrock
