Newspaper reports today claim that Liverpool have launched a "secret bid" for Juventus ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It is claimed that Rafael Benitez is trying to put together a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer for the Swedish World Cup star.

Juventus signed the 23-year-old striker from Ajax in the summer but he has failed to adapt to the Italian game sparking speculation that Juve will be prepared to let him leave.

Agents representing the player are believed to be touting him around Europe in the hope of securing a January transfer.

Rafa is desperate to recruit cover for the injured Djibril Cisse and according to reports today he's been scouting all over Europe and Spain in particular.

Meanwhile Insider sources claim that Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry will return to Spain later this month to work on another deal. It is also claimed that the Reds have been sniffing around Spurs and other Premiership clubs to see if a decent striker could be tempted to Anfield.

Another source. More the merrier.

http://www.transferwhispers.com/forum....fpart=1

Liverpool are keen on signing Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The 23-year-old is unsettled at Juventus following his transfer from Ajax in the summer and reports today claim that the player will be allowed to move on in 2005 despite Juve shelling out £11million for him in August.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is in the market for a striker after losing Djibril Cisse for the rest of the season with a broken leg and is searching high and low for cover.

It would be a good coup for Liverpool if they could sign Ibrahimovic but with him costing so much money, you'd expect Juve to want to sell him, if such reports about wanting to off-load him are accurate.

Yeah, but i'mn gonna say he would cost us a pretty penny.  Of course i would be happy about any transfer and stand behind rafa 100%

I almost forgot about this guy once he made his move to Juve. I think it would be a great signing for us, I've always been an admirer of this guy. We've seen people come into the Premiership from the Dutch league very successfully too, such as RVN and recently Robben.

i think he will most likely come in as a loan sign with the chance of having the 1st option of buying him. I have got to say, if rafa pulls this off, it will be a great signing.  Ibrahimovic will complement Baros/Cisse very well.

Ideally I'd like to see these players to come in:
Ledley King
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Victor

Maybe another striker?

It would cost us considerable money for these guys, maybe Hyypia on the way out and the money from reaching the 2nd stage of the CL if we do could help us get there.

Victor ? He looked pretty ordinary playing against us in the champions league. Would hope for man city to get relegated and buy SWP.  :p

agree with you on ledley king. hope spurs get relegated & we can then buy him  :p

Ledley King is a quality central defender but Spurs would not be keen to let him go. He signed a new contract with them recently and for that reason we would have to pay big money to sign him.

Morientes, Beattie, Johnson, Ibrahinavic and even Nic Anelka (this morning's Mirror) We are being linked with every bugger who's ever scored a goal right now. I wouldn't complain if we landed Zlatan on a loan deal. It would suit both parties + this guy has great touch for such a big man. Can we loan a player outside of the transfer window or do we have to wait till Januart?

Nah you have to wait for Jan for loans or permanent transfers :(

Morientes, Beattie & Ibrahimovic are great players but Johnson or Anelka would be bad buys ???

why do u think johnson would be a bad signing, we get a chance to look at next weekend but what have we got to lose his only 23. i know people will look at his penalty miss against us in the carling cup but that was longtime ago look at what he done in the old first divsion and what his doin in the premier league. only henry scored more than him in the league this season wat if say like juventus did aresnal said no to henry where would he be toady.

I wouldnt buy Anelka. Johnson is young and doing well at the moment but lacks experience. Ibrahimovic (spell it right people!!) is a good player and a loan deal would be good. Morientes would us a big money and Beattie has feck all this season hes been on the treatment table longer than he's been in the side.
