If he doesn't spend all of his transfer budget this season, does the unused amount get rolled-over into next season?

I should think so, but I have a feeling all £30million will be used this season because Rafael wants to bulk up his squad and improve areas on the pitch.

If that were Rafa intends to play him I don't think he'll get a look in but I think he'll be played on the left cos thats where Rafa's seen him play from his time ar Barca

Only made the "chuck this post at me " remark as some members in other threads seriously underate Zenden , even you refer to him as a "good player " whereas I think he is a very very good player .

I wonder if those who underate him base that on fact he is coming from Boro on a free.

excellent point laza, how many times do you see us linked with a player from a smaller club only for people to say "oh he's " when they in fact have seen very little of the player and judge them on the club they play for rather than thier individual ability.

The fact that he can play multiple positions makes him very valuable to us. I think the bottomline is he is defo better than the soon to be departed Diao. I'm sure he is even better than Smicer and maybe even Biscan. Good squad signing.

New Liverpool signing Boudewijn Zenden today spoke of his delight after completing his free transfer move from Middlesbrough to Anfield. 
The Dutch star signed his contract this morning and was paraded in front of the media at Melwood at lunchtime.
 
Before the press conference he spoke exclusively to Liverpoolfc.tv and revealed the scenes he witnessed from the club's supporters during and after the Champions League final in May helped convince him to make the move to Anfield.
 
Zenden said: "I am absolutely delighted to be signing for Liverpool. When a club like this comes in for you then you don't need asking twice.
 
"Rafa Benitez was a big influence in me coming here but the biggest influence was Liverpool FC as a name and its magnificent fans.
 
"I watched the Champions League final in a hotel and the thing that stuck in my mind was at half time when we were 3-0 down and all you could hear were our fans singing You'll Never Walk Alone.
 
"I saw the scenes from the parade of the city and they were absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to play my first game in a Liverpool shirt."
