Spot on.

To Bermenstein's comment, I don't see why we don't just put Gerrard in your '10' position and play Mascherano and Alonso behind him with Torres upfront.

We may have the genius for that position we're seeking as of now!

Well LFC is in Liverpool and belongs to Liverpool and if you dont like scousers fuck off and support someone else.
We could do without people like you supporting us cause you talk nothing but sh!te.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Fair enough, i possibly agree.

But that means he would have to stay up there supporting Torres.

Gerrard loves to come deep and dictate the play, and I don't think Gerrard is willing to give that part of his game up.

He would be great for that position because he scores aswell as creates.

But he needs to stay up there and not drift back. Torres needs that support.

Maybe there have been better '10' than Gerrard like Zidane, but you really have to say one of these names to find one.

I wouldn't like him to be a second striker but an attacking midfielder. That means that like Xavi (Barcelona) or Iniesta, he could and should go to the midfield to make number superiorities when the midfield is crowded, and he could aswell initiate plays from there.

But of course he'd have the freedom to kick the ball from range and enter the box as he likes to do often, while he has his back covered. Torres would be supported enough with a Babel on the left and Gerrard behind him.

The risk of not doing so could be seen in the second half yesterday. Babel miscalculates a pass, Gerrard was lurking outside the area as often, and the counterattack was too easy for Manchester.

Not that your idea is bad whatsoever, the schema you propose is nice, but if I had to spend big money for big names, I'd rather look other positions.

1. A 50 goal season from Torres - surely that would win us 1 of the big trophies (EPL or UCL)
2. Getting rid of Sissoko
3. Signing Alves anyone?
4. Beating Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal in our away games against them, and of course, Everton at home. :D

My Christmas List:

Out:

Carson, Sissoko, Kuyt/Crouch

In:

Villa,Berbatov, Mancini, Agbonlahor,Lahm and a top class CB, any of these will do fine.

Chances of us getting any of them are very slim, especially in January but can live in hope.

Would ideally like to get rid of Voronin before Crouch/Kuyt but wouldnt get anything for him.

Wouldnt be the end of the world if we replaced Aurelio too. I like the lad but i just get the feeling his career is never gonna get going at Liverpool.
