he aint good enough and will cost too much.
surely we should be looking at someone better.he has 26 odd goals in 4 years at west ham which imo isnt good enough as back up for torres.babel is a much better player and would rather see him get a fair crack up front instead of wasting money on another average at best player.

People I was hoping to bring in were either Arda Turna or Van Der Vart.

Now, since we only have about another day, I'm hoping Fernando Llorente ends up at Anfield before the transfer market ends.

Its NOT going to be Toivonen, Dalglish doesn't rate him.  Looks likely that it will be Cole.  Most of the West Ham fans won't be too upset.  S'pose it'll help w/ the homegrown rule.

It seems like at this point the only position being looked at is striker.  Probably be Gomez or Cole at this point, probably the latter.  Not sure how strong the source of Gomez is, but Cole seems like a likely possibility at the moment.

What I am sure Roy is looking for is power. Torres has pace, skill and is strong but he is not a target man. In some situations we need that to break down some sides. Carlton Cole is a powerful and strong player, but he is injury prone. If we have 10 million as the numbers suggest then he would be in that price range... however if given the choice I would take Zamora. Arguably over the last two or three seasons he has been one of the top 5 forwards in the PL. Powerful, good in the air and he has a lot of strngth and skill for a big man.

I assume you can add Konchesky into that.  All we need is a striker and I would say that's not a bad Summer for a "club in crisis".  I think Cole would do a job for us.  I would take him over Gomez but I would take Llorente over the lot.
