Essien took an oppiortunity to seriously damage hamman and was three foot from the ball. F*****g coward. I think that he saw Gerard and hamman coming and S*** out of the tackle,
A*  for cowardice in my book.
Hope he's out for ages and misses the whole of the African Cup. maybe he will lewarn about the possible effects of his own behaviour. hamman may never have played again.

Still had his foot up, studs showing, a dangerous tackle. Im amazed he didn't even get booked for that.

I don't like to see any player get badly injured, not even Essien.

Well in that case you are a ponce. :D

JBG, he deserved it, you know it, the world knows it. He's scum. What goes around comes around. Brilliant if you ask me.

I often cringe when I see those sort of tackles, but I enjoyed watching tht on Essien, Stu is spot on: He deserved it.

"West Ham United's Nigel Reo-Coker will not face any disciplinary action from the Football Association for his bruising tackle on Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien."

Get In.

Its great to see sportmanship and fair play is alive and well in the game.

Why don't we just hand them swords and ask them to hack lumps out of each other?

JBG lighten up, idiots like that don't deserve respect.

I'm strongly of the opinion what goes around comes around, i wouldn't feel sympathy for a mugger who attempted and failed to rob a granny then got killed by a car and i ain't gonna feel sympathy for that thug getting the same treatment he dishes out every week.

I've seen enough of players careers being ended through bad tackles to understand that you cannot wish it on any player, even the Essiens of this world.

Jim Beglin - one of our own players - never recovered from Gary Steven's tackle. Toni Schumacher's tackle against the French forward in the 1982 World Cup almost killed that player.

Essien was playing a dangerous game and a bad tackle from Reo Coker won't stop him going around hacking guys in the future: if anything it'll make him worse. The only solution is a severe suspension from the FA and his manager to sort him out.

Priceless moment, but unfortunately it's played completely into Mourinho's hands however - he's now ruled Essien out of participating in the African Nations Cup.

who cares...this will make the cheat think twice about trying to deliberately hurt another opposition and pleading innocent. He got away with this type of tackle before, now he gets his own taste of medicine
