Yossi lifts the lid

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

For me its like this:
Yossi is no longer our player so entitled to say anything he wants about an individual who is no longer employed by the club !
He gave his all when at the club and put in some good performances contributing more than many in the squad
He has made no poor remarks about either the club or the supporters, in fact the opposite.
Don't like hearing anything negative about current or former managers or players, but to be honest I can remember two occasions when Yossi scored hat tricks and was then dropped for the next match so you can kind of see his point.
His remarks are aimed at our EX manager who the board decided to sack and a good percentage of supporters thought should go.

Like or loath Rafa and to be honest I am somewhere in the middle, nobody can argue that his man management skills are not one of his better qualities, it is pretty obvious that this side of his managemnet harmed the club and restricted our progress, if other players like Alonso, Crouch, Keane ect have kept quiet unlike Reira and Benayoun then fair enough that shows the integrity of the individual, however it does not mean the problem is not their.
I mean just look at tose list of names imagine if a manager could have kept them all on side and motivated then ?

it still surprises me that people think football clubs and whats goes on inside them is all sweetness and light, things happen managers and players fall out, managers and players move on.

Would you love the club/company so much that you can forgo your career?

leaving Liverpool is hardly forgoing your career, name another club in the premiership that has more players in the World Cup Final for example?

Anelka, Malouda, Terry, Lampard, Cole, J.Cole,Carvalho, Ferreira, Deco, Drogba, Essien and Mikel.

the latter 2 unfortunately were injured

Surely this should be moved to another section as they both have nothing to do with the club . As for the content - it was to be expected tbh - some players don't get on with the way a person manages the team - it will happen in every club . Question is why sign a new contract last summer and why not stay when the previous manager that you didn't get on with has gone ?! Only Benayoun will know the answer to those questions . Either way he has left to a rival and is no longer a Liverpool player . The two things that really pis.s me off is 1. The statement of "Respect I deserve " - Benayoun it's not up to you to decide if you deserve respect - footballers need to earn respect and 2. He went to Bascome and NOTW - That's showing disrespect to the club  who helped him earn millions .

Also if players like Xabi , Crouch and Keane have not said a word about the previous manager then how do people know they had a problem with him personally ?!

Alonso - one of the best midfielders in the world. Benitez tried to sell him for 10m to part finance the purchase of the legendary ........Gareth Barry

keane - bought for 20m , rarely played, scored 2 goals in one game and then dropped for the next few games. Sold soon after for just 10m

Crouch- scored a lot but then dropped for Kuyt (who couldn't score in a brothel)

These players are your defense of a manager whe led us to  7th.

I hope Inter fail to win the league (won 5 in a row) and that will show up Benitez for the level of manager that he is.

can we stop the snide sh!te please? wishing the worst on someone who loves our club just so you can say 'I told you so'. I'm sure he wanted more than £10m for Alonso like but thats by the by.

All of us know, that even a hat-trick couldn't promise Yossi a place in the starting
team the next game. Yes, I agree with him - It is Rafa to blame, and it's a good thing
that Yossi is talking about it AFTER the season is over, and explaining the fans
of the team he really loved (and was hoping to play much longer there) why he left.

Was Ian Rush "Judas" for leaving us? and he didn't have a "Rafa" problem...
Was Alonso Judas?

Yossi left not for the money (hey, he'll get a bit more - but coul'd have left earlier
to Russian clubs for much much more!). He left because he felt he can't deal
with Rafa anymore.

I think he should get the warmest welcome he can get at Anfield next time he comes.
Try to remember his great moments here from the goal in Madrid to the hat-tricks.
From the way he put his head to score that goal against Arsenal while kicked in the head
(would Babel do the same?) to the last minute goals that kept us in the race a year ago.

Thank you Yossi for those 3 years.

Your just biased lash . The problem is not that he's gone to Chelsea . The problem is the interview he has given . Once again Liverpool's backroom shenanigans are being played out in the public domain . He should have just kept his trap shut , took his wedge and got on with it .

Did you see any big interviews in the papers slating the manager after Rush left or Alonso . NO . They got on with it and so should he . He is a disloyal tw.at .

Of course I am biased. I have been a LFC fan for almost 30 years...

Players comes and go, and not every player that is leaving the team is a villian. In the case of Yossi, playing for Liverpool was a dream come true. He would have been happy to play as long as possible, and end his carrear at Anfield. But then comes Rafa...

Yossi felt, after 3 years with Rafa, that he can not play for him anymore. So he left... Well, according to Yossi, Rafa told him before the Hull game to look for a new team... What did you want Yossi to do?

As a fan of Liverpool, I really wanted to know WHY did Yossi leave us... "open the lid"? - I don't think so.

And one last question... And I would be happy to hear a honest answer : Let's say Torres goes to Chel$ki. do you booo him next time he's at Anfield?
And how about Stevie G? You know know how close he was on leaving us a few years ago... Say he leaves now. Do you booo him?

Benny is just stating what other lads have told us including Babel and the truth is Benitez began to erode confidence in players with his management style. He just wore these boys down and into the ground. Maybe he was finding it tough coping with the situation and just got arsey and was hard to work with but one way or another its pretty clear it was the right decision for him and the club to part ways. Ive a feeling there will be more smiles on the field and around training, different vibe all round with a new regime installed and we will see the benefits in results in the coming weeks.
