Yes i think he is still a fantastic player and has hopefully many seasons left with us, either first team or as a squad player.

i was hoping to hear murphy0151's view on this subject. he is a big fan of riise afterall. :D

does anyone know what sort of money riise's on by the way? i would have thought he's probably one of our lowest earners.

Don't think he is one of the better football posters on here, but reading through his JAR thread, at least he can admit when John had a good game. He has always been consistent with his criticisms.

If we can get Philip Lahm or Leighton Baines then maybe we can consider selling JAR for a decent price. No doubt he has got a lethal left foot but his defending is questionable sometimes. I know he's a committed player but then we need more quality in order to progress.

So many great goals down the years would be worth a new contract let alone the fact that he's probably got a few more left in him.

Whilst we're at it, anyone got a favourite Riise goal? Aside from the classic free kick v Manure, mine would probably be our second against Barca this season - perfect way to win the game.
