You're the best SHOWBOATERS, yes.

But the words "Brazilian" and "Team" don't go together too well. Unless you can trick your way through the world cup, you're knackered.

Just look at the World Cup Final in '98, then tell me all Brazilian national teams lay more emphasis on the word "team" than "individual". You can't. Your idea of "teamwork" is getting some slappers to service all your players.

But I have to agree with AB - you're a cocky son of a b*tch.

Well I guess the Showboaters tend to do better then the so called teams... and we DO have teams.. 1970, 1982 and 2002 (as well as THIS SAO PAULO) proves this.... I agree that we don't have that kind of TEAM with Parreira's team, but anyway....
While your so-called teams always get hammered by the show boaters....
The world's greates showboater in the world, today, is Ronaldinho....
I guess all of you LFC fans would want HIM in your team, as wwll as Adriano and Kaka.... so I think you're just jealous that our players are SURELY better than yours....

And I don't care what you think of me... seriously.. couldn't care less....

Thanx for the input, though.

Is that the same Kaka who lost to LFC in the CL final?
The Adriano who has won f*ck all?

I'm telling you now - any team in World football would love to have Steven Gerrard playing for them.
Add to that JC and Xabi Alonso, and that's 3 players who could walk into virtually any team in the world playing for Liverpool FC.
Not just England, or Brazil, or Spain, or f*cking Guatamalia.

Liverpool FC.

If I have to pick a Brazillian I wish for in Liverpool, there is only 1 - Ronaldinho, no equal and no peers at this moment.

Other than that, I don't envy any european team although I admire AC Milan's Kaka. I admire Schevchenko much more. In Stevie G, we have a player most top European coached would be dying to have.

KAKÁ
RONALDINHO
ADRIANO
RONALDO
ROBINHO

Does Gerrard have a vacancy there? I don't think so. It's already difficult to choose 4 among those men. Maybe, if lucky Gerrard could hold himself on the bench if Brazilian.

Thinking better, he would have to play better than Juninho Pernambucano.  :D

"Brazilian" and "Team" doesn't work together? Maybe...  However, in this way we got 5 world cups, it's our style. Which one is better, the history says.

Sorry guys, i had to come back.

I'd take Gerrard over Robinho anytime of the day. Most overhyped Brazilian at the moment.

I've been pretty busy with real life so I could not see the semifinal until now.

Some random comments about the game, with no link between one comments and the others.

* So that's supposed to be the semifinal of the world championship of clubs. Pretty mouthful name, provided that the stadium was half full. ??? I don't know why don't the clubs around the world yell enough! and start asking questions like why *always* Japan. A two leg game for instance, would be interesting to see as a final (2 legs make more sense between teams of different continents), the stadiums would be full, and each continent could taste the other's atmosphere. It'd be interesting to watch my Liverpool agains a crowd of 100.000 people dancing and drums playing, and needless to say, winning there.

* I've read somewhere in this thread that Deportivo Saprissa was a reasonable team. Well, for me watching them was like a flashback to the football of when I was child. You just can't win a nowadays games pressing while walking. Certainly they have some skill in control and touch, but that's just not enough. About their play with the ball, they only opted for the long ball, and very weighted to Bolaños' left wing. The Centeno, Gonzalez and the likes had their skill, but their teamwork is obsolete. Their LB/RB did NEVER doubled the winger to make a combination. If your team is not moving without the ball, and you are *mildly* pressed, you have no other option than the hopeful long ball, and that's piece of cake for a defence like Liverpool has.

* BTW, if Sydney didn't manage to win the game against Saprissa, I think there's lots of job to do in the Aussie football. Liverpool didn't have to do much. I couldn't jump into many conclussions but some little comments of players:

* Alonso: some excellent long balls that produced an 'ooooooooh' of the crowd.

* Gerrard: Touches of class in a comfortable game in which he just enjoyed the game and produced a bunch of 'aaaaaaaah' for instance with a heel touch in the first part.

* Traore: It's difficult that a player doesn't reach a point in which he isn't questioned by his own crowd. When you are in this times, you have to play easy. I couldn't understand why he kept trying difficult passes that besides nobody expects him to do. Just run, your wing, double riise, and make combinations. Easy pass. Josemi is questioned too, and he was not brilliant, but defo didn't complicate his life .

* Crouch: Good work :)

Sabre

(1) BTW, this post is thought for inner consumptiom of Liverpool supporters, I don't mean to be disrespecful to any team. I respect Saprissa.

Gerrard doesn't play as a totally defensing midfielder, just a crazy man would put him among the "quartet".

If in Arsenal and in Juve Gilberto and Emerson uses to attack sometimes, in the Brazilian Team they plays almost as a third back.

In a nutshell Fallabella, you just need to watch more full games of S Gerrard, stop watching only highlights and photos of football, and stop believing the hyped press about your team in the local press. Once you have seen 100 games of European football, come back, and we'll talk about football.

You meant Robinho, I hope. Kaká definitely isn't a showboater. You guys remember the Final of the UCL so good, you should remember his long pass to Crespo, from behind the middle of the field.
