Yes, but still, according to your good self, there was nothing wrong or broken when Shanks took charge. Read on.

A dilapidated stadium.

Run down training facilities, barely adequate.

Languishing in the old second division with no real sight out of it. No real money either.

As Manhattan say's: I reckon the plumbing was a bit f*cked as well

But, yeah, there was nothing really broken. Unless you wanted a cup of tea and a shower that is.

Shanks tactics were awesome.

Building team morale by having the players assemble at Anfield before going to Melwood, then coming back to Anfield after training and away matches. Eating together in communal dinners. Using "miner" mentality to build morale (one man has a bad match, his team mates cover for him), teaching respect for each other to bond players to each other (essential for a team mentality), drawing goals on walls with "targets" to aim for with shots, five a side matches for "pass and move" strategies (another tactic from his mining days playing football with other workers), and his quotes and statements were filled with so much wisdom and simple logic, even Yoda would agree with him.

Another thing Shanks did, along with Bob, Joe and Kenny was whoever the worst player that day was, had to buy the rest of the squad a meal from the chippy, so nobody wanted to play bad.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Imagine the same sort of thing taking place today. The worst player playing under Rafa would have to buy each of his team mates a car.

That's what he's doing anyway isn't it Igor because he certainly isn't playing football.

I feel abit sorry for dirk ,he does try and he works his :censored: off . I really thought he'd kick on this year , sadly he hasn't and what technique he had has totally gone with his confidence. He will hopefully be sold in the summer back to a club in Holland and get back into some sort of comfort zone.

:D At saint , i just love it when that happens.

Last season for Kuyt was all about trying to impress, and he did enough for most fans (me not being one of them) and for Benitez to be the number 1 forward last year. Once he knew it was who's up front with Dirk, he took his foot of the gas and his performances grew gradually worst. Now this season he knows he isn't the number 1 forward and I think he's just so low on confidence he can't even rekindle the form he showed when he was trying to impress at the early stages of last year.
