Im surprised we still have any supporters around here. A lot of supporters stopped going when it emerged that the future of the club wasnt looking to good (grim, if you like). A few years back we had a decent set up, we were in the first division (now championship) had decent players (paul groves, ivano bonetti, gary croft, john oster) and all that was needed was a new stadium. Not a big expensive one with more capacity, but to somewhere accessible for both home and away supporters. Anyone who has been to blundell park will tell you, you have to walk most of the way their as the space is almost none existant. However every plan that came up in areas around grimsby were met with defiance by the neighbourhoods and simply pertitioned against it. It left the club with one option, to build the club in stallingborough but due to the location of the proposal the club eventually turned down that idea, and so were stuck with Blundell Park. With the club doing pretty well and players like john oster and gary croft getting good attention from premier league clubs the club couldnt match their offer and lost each one, even our captain paul groves to west brom. In the end the club just sank and sank and are now almost a non league club with no sign of hope of a bright future. But like I said, its been a while since their has been any of that.
