Why the doom and gloom ?! - - look at our next 10 fixtures......

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

This has got to be the weakest 10 fixture run any team will have in the premiership this season.  Not a single quality team amongst them.  Be positive lads - we should start the run 2 points clear of newcastle and be very far ahead by the end!!!

Wolves 21-01-2004
Everton 31-01-2004
Bolton  08-02-2004
Man City 11-02-2004
Portsmouth 21-02-2004
Leeds 29-02-2004
Southampton13-03-2004
Wolves 20-03-2004
Leicester 27-03-2004
Blackburn 04-04-2004

Doom and gloom, the point is that in the past and for the top clubs now we'd be banking on at least 8 wins and 2 draws.  26pts  under Houlier of the last two seasons we could lose them all.  If it were only Chelsea and Manu And Arsenal I think we could beat them. Fact his regardless of Houliers trophy wins since he's taken over the dross and shitty clubs are taking points of us and that bad.  Nobody would be complaining if the only teams beating us were the top three but just look at who has beat us in the last five years it bloody appalling.

Our sequence for these matches could easily be..........draw, win, draw, win, lose, draw, lose, win, win, lose. Or something like that.

I wonder how many of those "easy" fixtures are going to turn out to be banana skins waiting to happen. Let's no forget we lost to Southampton at home this season and Man City at home last season, Portsmouth away this season and Bolton at home in the Carling Cup so four of those sides have beaten us in the last 12 months :(

And last year........Fulham, Charlton. Remember, we couldn't score in our two matches against bottom club Sunderland. And we played Palace twice in the cup and couldn't score against them either!!

your getting a bit ahead of yourself. The so called "easy" fixtures are the ones we have the most trouble with.

Next Ten Fixtures (Last Season's results in brackets)

Everton (h) 31-01-2004  (D0-0)
Bolton  (a) 08-02-2004  (W3-2)
Man City (h) 11-02-2004  (L1-2)
Portsmouth (h) 21-02-2004  (N/A - L0-1 at Fratton Park this season)
Leeds Utd (a) 29-02-2004  (W1-0)
Southampton (a) 13-03-2004  (W1-0)
Wolves (h) 20-03-2004  (N/A D1-1 at Molineux this season)
Leicester (a) 27-03-2004  (N/A W2-1 at Anfield this season)
Blackburn (h) 04-04-2004 (D1-1)
Arsenal (a) 10-04-2004 (D1-1)

So we only lost 1 of the corresponding 7 fixtures last season (won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1 of the reverse fixtures this season against the 3 promoted sides) Unfortunately we drew 3 and only won 3 of the six games we didn't lose making 12 points out of a possible 21.
