Who will the new manager sell?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Of course there are the obvious players who have to go:
biscan, diao, traore...
But what about players trying to break into the first team like Baros, Pongolle, Le Tallec, Riise, Cheyrou, Smicer
And also will he keep first team players like Hamann, Henchoz, Murphy.
???  ???  ???  ???  ???

He's quick and he's f*cking hard,

For me he can sell every player except gerrard, kewell, riise, carragher (versatile back up), baros, smicer and diouf.

I think we should keep these players because they are likely to improve with a faster and more fluid attacking style.

I don't think you'll find many people agreeing with you re: Diouff and Smicer, Banana.

Troare will join West Brom next week, and Jerzy Dudek could be the next to go, with PSV (who attempted to sign him last week) his most likely destination. Reports from Spain indicate that Canizarez will be Benetiz first signing for Liverpool, and Canizarez is available on a free transfer.

Marcus Babbel will also probably leave, most likely on a free transfer to someone like Schalke in Germany. Babbel wants to return to Liverpool and try his luck with the new manager, but he is unlikely to make any impression.

Neil Mellor will also probably leave for Crewe on a season long loan.

After that it is mere speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Henchoz and Hamman were let go. I reckon that had Houllier remained in charge both of these players would have been sold by the club.

Rick Parry has indicated that the board are anxious to ditch the likes of Diouff, Diao and Cheyrou, but are unlikely to get any takers given those players wages.

This is mere speculation but a shock departure from the club this summer could be Milan Baros.

so we could let Owen & Hyppia go?
...and don't you think we had enough of Diouf after one wasted season? also what's the reason for keeping Smicer? Their form are as unpredictable as English weather and should be sold if there are any taker.

If the right price came in, I'd let Owen go. It would get rid of the excuse mentality that has been built up at Liverpool under GH. If we lose its cause Owen is injured and we will be better when he comes back. Bol**x! We are supposed to be a top team. We shouldn't be reliant on one player! No Owen would mean we would be forced to try play football all the time, not just wait for him

Cisse is DEFINITELY coming to Anfield in July 1st, I think it is bad idea to get him, because we don't know about new manager's plan for next season.

In my humble opinion, (Just in case Stu has a rant!)

Babbel
Biscan
Cheyrou
Diouff
Diao
Diarra
Henchoz
Heskey (Already gone thank the Lord)
Medjani
Smicer
Traore

Then wait for the mass exodus at Stamford Bridge and the Nou Camp and pick up a few bargain's

Toooooooooooo Slow for a Top quality centre back, also looks at time's as though he wants to swap position and have Kirkland's job.

Apart from that Great servant just time to move on.... Upward's and Onward's

Nothing wrong with Hughes replaced him with Hansen (Bad move NO!)

Nothing wrong with Thompson replaced him with Lawrenson (Bad move no!)

Just think we need to move on Sami has one, maybe two year's left at the club, we can afford ONE central defender with questionable pace NOT Two... that's my only reasoning behind the original comment.

As for me... I think that Owen should stay. He is still young and he can still improve... And we all know that he is a deadly finisher... He just a little unlucky last season... And I think that he will gets his form back this season. And if you guys want to sell him for 20Mil+... I think that's a bad idea... He might worth 30+Mil two years later... So, why do we need to sell him now? And I think the new manager wouldn't take the risk to let him go...
My opinion is... We should sell away Diouf, Diao, Traore, Heskey and Biscan.
