Can everyone stop mentionaing SWP.. the guys good but hes justa  sqaud player and we got about 50 of them alredy. We are gonna buy Cisse, and with him id buy Dawson and VDV if we could afford him!!! If not him then Mexes could be good and Malbranque would be a nice little buy. Im also sticknig with Mendietta, wed get him on a free and hed be a nice addition. We also need someon to work directly with Gerrard, i would have loved Guardiola a few years ago but we need someone strong in midfield to make the league ours

Listen mate, I can tell you that I wasn't singing his praises. It was great to win three trophies a few years ago, but those of us who have been around a while had real concerns even then........being totally outclassed by Arsenal in the cup final with Houllier's negative tactics and rescued by Owen. Failing to beat Birmingham in 120 minutes of football and managing to get by on penalties. Oh, and conceding 4 goals to a pub team in the UEFA cup final.

I think that he deserves real credit for putting discipline back into the club and by getting rid of Fowler and others who simply were more interested in matters outside the game.

But he has wasted a fortune on inadequate players and his tactics have produced a team which plays dull, negative, unattractive football.

He should have gone two years ago. The gap between us and third place, never mind first place, is massive.
