who in there right mind would pay (apart from us) 10mil for babel?? NO ONE

Wenger would I have heard.

He is a big fan and I think babel would really turn into a good player under a manager like him.

Agreed!

I think we'd be looking at about £6m - £8m for Babel MAX  :sniffle

Couldnt care what club he goes to, even if Arsenal do turn him into a great player. I would much rather see the back of him.

Couldn't believe my eyes this morning. The back pages of one of the tabloids sayingthat Rafa WILL be given money for transfers in January.....BUT.....Heskey and McGeady are top of his shopping list....

My signiture may do for that, but as for McGeady, I don't know whether or not to be pleased by hearing that news, or dismayed. I'm not McGeady's biggest fan, but a mate of mine (another Red) seems to reckon he's what we need, and he's been saying this for about a year now, so who knows. He could turn out to be a decent buy and shouldn't cost that much. We need wingers, proper ones, and McGeady is that.

Edit - BTW, that's the Scottish S*n reporting that, so take with a pinch of salt.

We need wingers, proper ones to help us challenge.. and McGeady is that???

what are you smoking mate?
McGeady is average at best, hed probably get into somewhere like the Wolves squad... If we go for players like McGeady then we might as well just give up on trying to win anything ever

has anyone seen this?

Arda Turan allegedly wants to play for a team with red shirts. :D

A right winger, would go for around 10 to 12 million. Captain of Galatasary, Arsenal was supposedly inquiring a couple of months back, but then again he plays in the Turkish League.

Yes, McGeady is an out-and-out winger, and there aren't very many of them available at the moment. Good ones. If you think he's average, fair enough, but you obviously missed the games he played against Italy, Holland, and against AC Milan with Celtic where he absolutely ripped them to peices. He's also lightening quick. People go on about Theo Walcott being fast, but McGeady is just as quick as he is. I'd take him no problem. Other than Torres, what other player do we have that is as direct as taking on players and skinning them in advanced positions? Yeah, exactly - none!

Read this over on RAWK. Not seen anything of the player, but apparantly a few clubs are after him, and his preference is with us. A play maker also? So that's two wingers we're interested in in a short space of time. I don't know, but we're meant to be skint? Where's the money coming from? McGeady could be very likely with Kenny having connections to get us him at a cheap enough price, but others I think we'll have to beg, steal, or borrow.

Come on guys whats wrong with Kuyt?At least he's trying.McGeady is not a bad idea since we dont have any sub for Kuyt, but if McGeady replaces Kuyt, then it will be a bad idea. But wingers are the least of our problems.Should consentrate our money more on strikers then good defenders who could deal with corner kicks and then on good midfield sub players.

You're wrong there, I feel. Kuyt's form this season has been sh*te, and I did say once upon a time that so long as we have Kuyt playing as a winger, we'll never win the league. We need wingers who can beat a man and supply a ball, and even score goals. We just aren't getting enough goals from wide areas. Reira was a step in the right direction, but he has a poor goal scoring return. We needs players that can cut in from wide and either cross or shoot. Berger and McMannaman were the last two we had that did it for us.

I'm still in shock you think McGeady is the great missing piece of the jigsaw, he's struggling in Scottish football at the moment and you're comparing him to Theo Walcott (who is also already past his best!!!)

Gerrard's form is quite poor this season as well, but I dont see that people want to replace him.Plus, Rafa has something with combining strikers with right wing position (Garcia, Cisse, Kuyt), so he'll probably even do worst if he gets another one to play there. But as I said, even if his form is poor, is not THAT poor so that we start to think about getting someone to play at his position. We have bigger problems at other positions.
