Who can we blame?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Absolutely, he was saying how much he would like to play Champions league football as he is not getting any younger blah blah blah, at the end of the day, we just can't afford the wages and transfer fees that City is paying. All he wanted is money, there is nothing wrong with that as I'm sure alot of us would do the same if in the same position as Barry. At the end of the day, it is just a job. But if you are talking about someone like Beckham, he had made huge money before and thus would more likely to sacrifice the transfer fees or even pay for his own wages to play champions league football. I think he did pay like 2million pounds or Euro to play for AC milan last season.

Dont blame it on the Cisse,

Dont blame it on the Molby,

Dont blame it on the Yankies.

Blame it on the Rafa.....
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

  surely this is Kuyt's fault

£17m for Johnson, I think BBC are on a windup :D

Keeping with the thread topic its hard to see who to blame. Maybe Rafa's been focusing on making sure Alonso and Mascha stay before chasing targets. Two weeks into the window and we're reportedly signing Glen Johnson very soon. Hopefully a decent attacking player is on his way in next, just wait an see, patience is a virtue

if you think we're too slow with the signging, just compare to the opposition:

mancs: minus their best player
chels?
arsenal?
liverpool - poss wrapping up a signing for an obvious weak position

Has Parry left the club or is he working until the end of June? If he's still here could he be responsible for the quick signing?  :suspect:

oooooo very  good use of "responsible"  :bowdown

that could mean either "credit or "blame"  :eyebrow

Regarding Barry.  12m he went for but we didnt seem to be in the running or at least that seriously.  But Alonso and Mash last season proved themselves to be better than Barry being here and it just might be that we werent all that bothered about getting him.

The thread is interesting in that I like the fact that its all down to Benitez as he has to live with his signings or lack of and it should put an end to the debates that have haunted this forum.

Unless we end up in a crazy situation where one of the biggest clubs in the world have huge financial difficulties because Parry sold the club to two Yanks that didnt have the money to buy it but refinanced the buy out with a crazy loan that was dubious at the time.  Imagine if that were true
