Another manager who has spent a fair deal after 4 or 5 years and we are still only hovering around 3rd and 4th in the league.

I'm just shocked by some of the attitudes of people around here.  Yesterday in another thread we had a lad worrying (his word) that winning the league would mean we are stuck with Rafa for years.  Now, Bav, we've got you waiting to say "I told you so" to Rafa-backers, should he be sacked (and then admitting that that would make you feel better).  If this isn't an indication that some people are more interested in seeing Benitez fail than Liverpool win, I don't know what is.  IMHO, it's a disgraceful attitude to have.  :glare:

It is disgraceful, Bob, but that’s the modern day football fan for you, we’re a terrible bunch, we want shooting in all honesty.

Nobody is totally happy but this anti Benitez stuff is OTT.

Mods, please at the end of the season keep these threads and then lets see these people APOLOGISE

I really don't know what all the fuss is about. We have got problems, the proverbial blind man could see that. Sacking Rafa is not the way to solve those problems, at least not part way through the season with EVERYTHING STILL TO PLAY FOR. Come the end of the season is the time to take stock, see what, if any progress we have made and decided if Rafa has taken us as far as he can, or if he's still doing a great job.

The team is playing cr@p, we can all see that and I am sure most feel just as frustrated, angry and upset as I am. Its Rafa's job to sort out the mess, if he can't then maybe at the END OF THE SEASON we may have to think again.

Bollox to the "in Rafa we trust", I believe in whats best for Liverpool fc, and I believe Rafa will prove that he's whats best for us.

A very human and football thing. The "Sack the manager" Syndrome. Under this syndrome, in which I have been before sometimes in my life, every word of the manager is magnified, every mistake you see in the pitch confirms your distrust, and even your favourite striker's misses are down to the manager.

And yes, some, even want to lose their team a week "for the greater good" of the club. "better a defeat than this reign until the end of the season" and things like that.

That's continental football for you. I thought Liverpool fans were all inmune to this syndrome, but this must be globalization.

However, I don't think they should apologise for wanting Rafa out. Rafa is paid well, and it's part of his job to bear with the pressure of not happy fans. All I expect is that the frustration is not seen in Anfield, and the people sings as usual, as long as the criticism is not based on insults and it's out of the pitch, it's all a matter of opinions. And I'm a great Rafa defender, but this syndrome is very natural.

I also agree with this and despite me wanting to get rid of Rafa and my frustrations with him of course I want to see us win every game, that is the reason I'm frustrated in the first place.

Well put, mate.  This is my exactly feeling as well--we'll assess the manager's position at the end of the season.  Although, as I naturally fall on the "in Rafa I trust" side of the fence, I would add (not substitute) bollox to the "Rafa must go" sentiment as well.  Neither extreme is realistic at the moment.

You ruin 90% of topics in the Liverpool forum with always trying to stir up arguements, multiple quotes, and always have to get the last word in.
And cause arguments with some of the less vocal on here.
Quite frankly you get on a lot of peoples tits.

So now, I can't say THREE words, tongue in cheek, without being bombarded by a raft of rhetoric from the clique claiming how I ruin threads?

As far as I can see this thread is still open for business.

Talk about where we are at as a club, nothing is prohibiting you.
