When's the last time - We outplayed someone?

When's the last time you watched Liverpool play and actually thought we won cos we outplayed the other team and played 'total football' and not we beat a very poor team or we defended for 90 minutes and scored on the break?
I seriously find it hard to remember any in the last 2 year - probably Man U at Cardiff is the only time.

to be fair we totally outplayed arsenal at home this season and should have been 4-0 up at half time but failed to put away our chances. if i remember correctly owen missed a header from two yards out.

yeah he missed a couple of sitters. that was the game where he knackered his knee aswell just before the turkey match. maybe everton away this season was our most convincing win.

What a cr#p arguementative post.

You outplay someone when you WIN!!!

If you win every game you are a great side.

End of!!!

Very petty Stu. It all depends on your definition of 'outplay'.  Sure, if you win every game you generally have to outplay a lot of teams. But winning a game 1 nil doesn't necessarily mean you outplayed the opposition.

If Sunderland had snuck a last minute winner against us at Anfield last season - Would you consider them to have outplayed us?

wasn't that officially the most one sided premiership game ever? if i remember rightly sunderland only got over the half way line once. we hit the woodwork three times, wasted about 15 good chances, and then when heskey did beat the keeper the ball hit owen on the backside and went wide. :D

Up until October we actually played fairly well, and the first bad performances (if memory serves) were against Charlton and Portsmouth.

We outplayed Arsenal at Anfield for the forst 45, but they slightly shaded the second half.

We were also unlucky to lose to Man UTD at home.

Blackburn Away springs to mind , the most one sided 3-1 I've seen for a long time .Lost  Baros and Carragher that game but looked the part, it sadly went downhill after that !! ??? Arsenal At home first half we were very impressive and should have won that game. After that it was poor pretty much until blackburn at home only a few weeks ago .....its THAT bad !!! ???
