Whats wrong with liverpool? - Why does no one want us?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Jersey Investors see Newcastle as a good investment, why not Liverpool. Are Moores and Parry really trying to bring in investment, or are they putting so many restrictions in place that no one wants to invest.
Aston Villa have found themselves a billionaire who for a few quid more ,(In billionaire terms :D  )  could have bought into a great club.
I am not expecting or even wanting an Abramovich but surely with the right approach and incentives ,investors should be queing up. We are the most successful English club, both in Europe and at home. We are the only english club to win a european trophy this millenium. We have recent success we have the players and the manager and there is massive room for improvement commercially.
Why does no one want us?

I suppose out of all the people interested in us none of them have seemed right for the club, none of them look to have the fans best interests at heart, we are a special club that wont sell ourselves off to the first billionnaire that comes along, theres no saying what they could do, look at hearts, they need to be sure the club is in safe hands

We can't criticise the board this close season: they've done extremely astute business without spending the kind of crazy money that Chelsea does. Probably things are progressing slowly behind closed doors. Because we are better and bigger than the others, the board isn't going to be impressed by the first tin pot billionaire that comes along.

The board at Newcastle have taken a lot of stick over the years (most of it deserved no doubt ) but to be fair to them they have certainly pumped some money up for players and managers. For a largely unsuccessfull club you have spent/wasted a large fortune on players. Payoffs for managers alone most have cost a fortune . You have had to pay over the odds to attract big name players to Newcastle such as Owen and Luque etc. But thats not the boards fault, they have put the money up and backed your managers.
I know there must be more to it than that but thats how I as a naive outsider see it.

The difference is we're looking for an INVESTOR not a BUYER. We want somebody to plough money into the club particlularly to finance the new ground but who is happy for Moores to ultimately call the shots as an overall majority shareholder (51%)

The guys who have gone into Villa have bought overall control of the club so can do with it whatever they wish in order to make a profit as they see fit. Moores would have the power of blocking anything he didn't like happening at Liverpool FC (probably a good thing) but this will clearly put off a lot of investors (a bad thing)

s@int - I am interested in buying Liverpool, how much do you want for it?
Rick Parry - Errr I am sorry we dont really want to sell the club we just want someone to invest in the club.
S@int - I see, so how much do you want me to invest?
Rick Parry - How much have you got?
S@int -Quite a lot
Rick Parry - Well thats how much we would like then.
S@int - Whats the money going to be used for?
Rick Parry -Building a new stadium and if there is anything left buying a couple of players
S@int - Great, can I pick the players?
Rick Parry - Errr no thats the managers job
S@int - So I am not the manager then?
Rick Parry - No, Rafa's the manager
S@int - So about the stadium, how much do you need ?
Rick Parry - About £200Million give or take a few million
S@int - No problem, we can build it near were I live, call it the S@int Arena, and then it will be easy for me to get there.
Rick Parry - Errr we already have a site picked out in Liverpool and we are going to call it New Anfield.
S@int - I dont live in Liverpool
Rick Parry - Oh so your an oot then?
S@int - Yes, why is there a problem?
Rick Parry -Not as long as you have the money, no.
S@int - So basically all you are looking for is an investor, who will have no real say in the club.
Rick Parry - Yes thats right
S@int -So how much do I get back for my investment?
Rick Parry - Well that depends
S@int - Depends on what exactly?
Rick Parry - Well it depends on how well the club does
S@int -So if the club wins the League I get a lot of money?
Rick Parry - Well no because we will have to invest the money in the future stars of the club.
S@int - And I cant pick the future stars of the club?
Rick Parry - No thats the manager and his team of scouts job.
S@int - OK, but as Chairman I will want to see better commercialisation of the club
Rick Parry - Errrr Mr Moores is the Chairman
S@int -So I cant pick the team but I can help pay for the players, I cant pick where the stadium is built or its name but I can pay for it, I will have no control over the direction the club moves regarding commercial ventures but I can pay for it. I may at some future unspecified date ,receive an unspecified amount, but only if the club is successful and we dont happen to need any new players at that time, which is unspecified.
Rick Parry - Thats right
S@int - What times the train to Newcastle?

Spot on s@int.

I'm not having a dig at Moores but this is the situation. Moores & co. are scouring for investment but they basically still want to be in control. Moores still wants to remain as chairman while the new investor may get one or 2 board seat.

Given this scenario, how many people out there in this world, especially self-made billionaire or multi-millionaire wants to part with money yet have so little say in the way the club is being run? I think the fact that they are still looking for investors and the fact that nothing has yet materialise speak for itself.

I don't want no billionnaire, I'm quite happy to see us earn our money through winning competition, than have some Yankee come in and start throwing his money about.

Moores won't sell this club to an ambramovich person because it would go against everything the club stands for. It would be a shame to suddenly wake up one morning and Moores and Parry have sold out to someone like Bill Gates who then decides to buy Ronaldinho for £70million etc.

It's also worth to mention that no investor will accept what Moores is offering, they'll want to be the new Chairman and have a large say in how the club is run.

Maybe its because we are waiting for the right person, not the right amount of money. makes sense to me

its simple really, stay where we are, redirect anfield rd then rebuild the stand, then knock down the main stand and build a 3 tier stand like the one at manure, sorted. it can be done and would be alot cheaper than building a new ground.

1- Could the club cope with losing the revenue while the Main Stand is rebuilt?

2- Is there enough space behind the Main Stand to expand it?

3- Would the local authorities grant permission for Anfield Road to be re-routed?
