whats acceptable this season?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Benny The Noon » Tue Sep 10, 2013 4:00 pm

So you are also negative - in fact constantly when it came to Downing. That's cleared that up and you also answered your own question about why others are negative and the team and certain aspects of the club or manager.

You haven't tried reasoning with me once - I suggested that Suarez wanted to leave to play in the CL as opposed to what he suggested in regards media in this country - you then unleashed insult after insult towards me because I dared suggesting that Suarez was lying and kept blaming the media - and then up pops Suarez with his real reason for wanting to leave - to play CL football and he even asked to be allowed to leave to Arsenal !! It appears I was right Thommo.

I then actually suggested that Madrid are currently a bigger team than us in World Football - realistically they are in every sense possible and that's why players like Suarez would want to leave us to go to them - and again you just threw insult after insult at me.

You call me an opinionated ***** !! Look in the mirror pal - you don't get more opinionated than you ! Even more so with red tinted specs on who can't see past his own nose. You continue to throw insults at me if it makes feel a "better supporter" than me. I know my support and I most certainly don't have to justify it to you.

I see my original response to you has been deleted
No matter
You have done what you always do when someone challenges you; deflect and distract. Here we are again discussing YOU rather than what the topic is about.
The facts are:
You are renowned for derailing threads with your "opinions". I am not
You CONSTANTLY post negative things on a daily basis about our manager, our players and our owners. I do not
You said Suarez (and therefore the club) should have been punished more harshly by the fa. I did not
You said Suarez was off in the summer. I did not
You said Real Madrid are bigger and better than LFC, even though the last time they won the CL was in 2002. I did not
You constantly praise other clubs while slaughtering ours. I do not
You are a weasely, slimy, sh'ithouse WUM who hides behind his keyboard annoying people. I am not
You are hated, despised or at least disliked by people on here (including the mods) I am not
You must not have a family and youve definitely got no mates. I have
So all in all we are not alike at all, therefore your point that we are similar is a load of sh'it.
Like your opinions

Always amazes me when people on forums attack people's characters and personal lives.

The level of abuse getting dished out on this forum is getting disgusting.

I don't think you have actually cleared anything up other than clarifying for everybody that you thrive on negativity. Your problem is that you are constantly negativity whereas the rest of us are somewhat more balanced. Isn't it enough for you that somebody finds you so incredibly annoying that they take a months sabbatical. No doubt you will wallow in that achievement.

You wrote page after page castigating Suarez and you're now actually having the audacity to claim that you were right about the reason Suarez wanted to leave. Have you spoken to him personally? Do you know all the details? Just what did he say on TV? What did the club tell him? Was there any ambiguity in the terms of his contract? None of us know do we and you certainly don't. Face facts you maintained for the entire summer that Suarez would leave. You were wrong. Live with it.

Again you have waxed lyrical about how wonderful Real Madrid, Man City and Spurs are. You very nearly wrote a book on Spurs transfer dealings and wrote page after page castigating BR and IA for their incompetence in the transfer market.

Yes you are opinionated but that is not the problem. We all have opinions. Your problem is that the majority of your opinions are just very negative.Apart from a couple of people on this forum virtually nobody responds to your posts unless it is to have a go at you. THAT NEEDS TO STOP BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU CRAVE. Like Thommo I have tried a reasonable approach with you from time to time but it is pointless.

Sorry mods but his behaviour is actually getting worse................

So what will be an acceptable finish this season ? - being in a fight for a CL spot would be an encouraging sign. That would give hope that BR could move us into the Top 4 if given a bit more backing in the transfer window. The position we are in when December arrives will be crucial to how the owners react -BR will hopefully be able to fill the missing gaps and increase the quality in the squad - do that and we could be in with a shout.

I think the squad is currently the 6th strongest in the league but hopefully we can over achieve.

Minimum for me would be a Europa League Spot - being without European football is harmful to the club

Would also like to see a good run in the cups and even winning one

We will definitely improve on last season thats for sure
I think we can well reach fourth and win a cup on the way, but if we dont I will accept a real challenge and all the players giving their best right through the season.

The bit in bold is key for me.

Last season there was a kitty of around 50 million given to the manager, roughly 30 in the summer and another 20 in the January window.

So far this season or in the summer window the club spent roughly 24 million when you take into consideration the money recouped from player sales. Now, if the manager was to get another 26 odd million in the January window (given that was the kitty last season) we could find ourselves with a very good team and squad from the new year onwards.

If this were to happen I would be more than made up.

Agree mate - I just hope that if we are doing well the owners don't see that as a sign that we don't need to add quality to the squad. I think last winter they had to buy because of the farce in August - hopefully targets are being sorted now

All this talk of the owners for me is a kop out.

The manager has had money. He's wasted copius (spelling sorry :D) amounts on players who aren't upto taking Liverpool beyond the level they were already at and failed to ship alot of players out who simply aren't upto it. Granted some signings are unseen like Sahko, some need change to settle, Aspas, Alberto and Illori... Coutinho was an excellent purchase... but beyond that, for me he hasn't gone out and signed anyone who's made us a better side.

Thats a worry.

What I will say is I am prepared to give him at least till the end of next season before I get to downhearted. But if we do fail to qualify for the champions league this season, this could be the end of LFC being a top side for a long time.

Coutinho, Sturridge, Toure, Sahko and Moses improve the side. The others Allen, Aspas, Alberto, Cissokho, Mignolet provided squad depth that suited Rodgers style of playing.

Out of all those players I would only really consider Allen and Borini as overpriced or ineffective.
