With Gerrard indicating that he was willing to sign after the Champions League Final and citing the events over the last five or six weeks as the reason he has changed his mind, what exactly has happened.

It surely can't be just because we delayed talks for a couple of weeks (because he stalled for the entirety of last season) and as Rick Parry has said IT IS NOT a financial issue. In his words it was about success.

Is it then something contractual? It's been banded around that there were certain clauses that he wanted in the contract which the club did not agree to?

I hope that we find out the truth because somebody is to blame

The puzzled look on Gerrards face in Istambul was one of "oh Shyte what have I done ?" It put a BIG stumbling block in the way of his "I'm off to see the Wizard" routine that he intended to do at the end of last season. So we've all had to go through this rubbish since and ALL ALONG he had no intention of staying.
At the end of the day the boy really thought that he was just too good for us, nothing to do with money, nothing to do with Raffa or his tactics, nothing to do with trophies, everything to do with the bright lights of London calling. He can spend his nights with the other retards in China White or The Funky Buddah because their gangs cooler than ours.
He's one sad sack !

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has made an amazing U-turn vy deciding to stay at the club.

Gerrard had looked to be on his way out of Anfield after telling the club he wanted to leave on Tuesday.

You know John...I tend to agree with you. Now watch the damage limitation exercise spins to work...think I will not feel the same affection for him anymore, nothin more that just another player in the squad, abeit a very good one. To me, loyalty means the world...
