What do you love most about our manager - Personality

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Rafa is simply a top class manager who could walk in to any top footballing job - his task of rebuilding this failing dynsaty has been especially harder givn the exploits of Chelasea and Man U in the transfer market.

I believe in him, what he is trying to do and know that he will always give 100% - besides Montse wants to build on her healthy collection of watches :D

At the end of last season I had my doupts...  I thinj I have even said that he would never win us the Premiership.  But I have always like "the man" if not the manager.

He is so obviously in love with the club, the team, the fans and the city... and now he seems to have stopped the word begining with R that we are not allowed to talk about, I think he may well win us No 19.

Right now there isn't another manager I would want at Liverpool.. (fickle aren't I??)
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

1.He loves the club and understands the heritage
2.He always does what he thinks is best for the club, players and fans
3.He isnt an arrogant :censored: like some and most of the time is very humble but also doesnt take prisoners.
4.He has brought out the best in gerrard and carra as well as signing players like Torres,Masher and Pepe
5.He won us Number 5
6.He is in touch with what the majority of fans want (IMO)
7.He is making us competitive by keeping us up in the top 4 (despite not having the spending power of others including villa and spurs)
8.He has made us the team to fear in europe (just like we were 70s and 80s)
9.He seems to be getting us closer to challenging for the title
10.There is no one else out there (available) that i would want to manage the club

He's creating self belief in the changing room which will inevitably bring us the league.

One step at a time the way Shanks did it and Bob continued.

He won us number 5.

He doesn't understand cricket.

He dresses like a rotund Lovejoy.

I`d echo that but also add dignity. Also you`ll never see him attack a ref, a fellow manager or player and he`d never blame a defeat on the colour of our tops.
His focus is always 100% on his team and his fans, and IMO he`s a total cut above in that respect. :)

Apart from his comments about warnock, about everton and most importantly his petulance against his own employers during a press conference, then let's look at his comments which are always the same whether we were great or garbage, that's really respecting the fans, personally I would prefer honesty from the manager.

Ok mate go on then remind me what Warnock said about us and what Rafa said about him, what was it? a single line from Rafa.
Everton ARE a small (minded) club, is that not honesty?
And as for petulance agaist the owners, give me a fkin brake, he was letting the fans know there was a problem with that two scum bags, again honesty.
If you cant see any good in our gaffa then the problem is yours not his, no one made you enter an obviously possitive thread.
I find it funny that in this his 5th season thats all you could come up with to back up your claim, three very weak examples.

irrespective of whether its one line or not, your comment was that you would NEVER see rafa do these things, i highlighted a few for you to show that NEVER is not quite the right word to use when he has in fact been guilty of all the things you say he would never do.

understand now?

:kungfu:

Well if you want to be so anal about it, you said you would prefer honesty from the manager.
And then you give three examples that in my opinion is the manager being honest, the first two brutally honest after being provoked.

Understand now?

Stop trying to derail the thread mate, you nothing better to do?

well, he certainaly has the club at heart, he believes in his team, he has passion for the City, the club, the fans. I would go as far to say if you we're in a Liverpool pub and he was in there too and you we're a bit strapped for cash he'd probably buy you a beer. He just seems a genuine man . Not too unlike a certain Mr. Shankly - and the rest is our history.

How long doe he have here though? well, for me, I'd extended his contract by another 5 years because in the 4 years he's been at the helm of this team he has guided us in the right direction. It's a matter of time before he brings the holy grail in to Anfield, but maybe just maybe this is his/our year.

Long may he reign - Rafa Benitez
