kennedy-great young defender.

marshal-best young keeper around.

Owen said he isnt signing a new contract until he sees who the next manager is.

Now if O'Neill was next manager...the next day Owen would sign a 5 year deal with no hesitation...
...because he knows how good a manager o'neill is.

it's ok saying that o'neill is a great motivator but the reponsibility partly lies with the players to motivate themselves. if you're winning football matches you don't need motivating, you can't wait for the next game. for me o'neill may be a great motivator but the guy is tactically naive, especially away from home in europe.

realistically, the guy is not going to be our next manager anyway.

Do you get all your facts from championship manager?

All you ever bang on about is all these foreign players that you have never seen consitently seen live.

Get a grip!

You don't have a clue about these players in all reality, you know very little about them.

For christs sake, the only players i reckon i could be accurate at assessing are the ones i see live and on a regular basis at games and on tv.

Theres shitloads of regular starters in the premiership i couldnt say i am sure about so how on earth can you make some of the statements you do?

Are you suggesting that we are no longer attractive to top class players? We are as big a side as Man U & Arsenal and certainly a bigger attraction than Chelsea to all but those whose motivation is money alone. Liverpool are a big attraction to top class players whoever is in charge, but ESPECIALLY with someone like MON in charge, also he will deter some of the lazy freeloaders from coming knocking. D'you think Diouf would've lasted 2 minutes under MON?

I dont see whats wront with a 3-5-2 formation.
We dont even know if it would be bad ion the premiership.

                              MEXES
          CARRAGHER                 HYYPIA
                             HAMANN
         ? ? ?                                  RIISE (natural position)
GERRARD           KEWELL (he moves into the
                                              centre all the time anyway)
                      CISSE      OWEN

O'Neil's an good manager.

Houllier is a superb manager.

We need better otherwise we made a mistake sacking Houllier. You are what you have proven to be. Nothing more, nothing less.

O'Neil hasn't proven he's better than Houllier.

So therefore he isn't. I'm sick of people saying how we need proven quality in players, but then applying different tactics when it comes to managers.

And yes i am sayin Liverpool aren't as attractive as the sides above us. Wake up, we aren't. Certainly not anymore.

And i didn't say we can't sign top class players, i said we can't sign world class players. Theres a difference.

******!!!

horrble ****** un natural complicated nasty piece of garbage.

4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-3-3 (based on 4-4-2, one winger and wide midfielder).

Anything other than that will never win a league title in the country.

Please stop judging potential managers by their "defensive" or "attacking" style. It is irrelevant. If the existing players and a few additions at obvious positions are managed in such a way so that their strenths prevail over weaknesses and if the totally useless ones (2-3) are thrown out then the team will improve maybe to surprising standards.

The problem with Houllier was not so much his defensive mentality , it was his obvious paranoia, his stubborness and his recent awful transfers. When you insist playing a defensive striker (godness me... see Heskey) , the worst footballer of the Universe (Biscan) and Henchoz as a full back then you are obviously mentally handicapped.

In any case we need a clever coach who will get at least a 10% more out of each player. If this happens ,then we mean business. Arsenal cannot get any better than last season and if Henry gets injured then they should forget about unbeaten runs.

Both MON and Mourihno are good candidates, but MON has such a desire to win that makes his brain keep going where others would stop. Parry, Mores and Houllier have all messed it up lately. Listen to the supporters for once. Their judgement is almost always right.

I agree.... what do people see in a guy (O'Neil) whose manged to win the the champioship in a two-club league ... wow, yet fails in the Champions league. We need a manager with the proven ability to plan a Domestic and European campaign... ending in some success. We've waited long enough!

I'm not having a go Stu but that comment you made there made me sh1t my pants!!!

Talk about the cat calling the dog hairy arsed!!!

You are Dbjril Cisse's biggest advocate on this forum, and I remember you also singing Boumsong's praises for a while as well.

As far as I am aware, both of these players have only played one competitive game on English soil which was in the UEFA Cup in 2002/2003.

I can't remember how Boumsong played at Anfield but Cisse had a stinker that Thursday night.

How can you berate members for singing the praises of foreign players "whom they have never seen play live" when you couldn't possibly have seen Cisse play "live" other than that game at Anfield (or possibly if you went to France for the first leg)?

I'll take it all back if you can prove that you take the ferry to Auxerre every second Saturday!!!!!

for me, the logical step is to win the premiership before we even think of conquering europe. winning the champions league without being domestic champions just wouldn't feel right.

Because i've seen alot of Cisse and Boumsong, i've always looked out for them since we were linked 2 or 3 years ago.

I've never bothered with Mexes, hence the reason i don't really remember him.

As for Cisse, yeah he played bad but still shown glimpses, Boumsong stood out like a sore thumb away and at home against us. I've seen them on eurosport and canal+ i don't claim to know loads about loads of foreign players but there are a few i know about. Then theres Dawson, me best mates a forest fan, went too a few games with him and watched him purposely and i listen to what he has to say. I don't blindly judge players i've hardly ever seen.

Players like Marshall, Kennedy, Dawson etc etc i don't see how he can claim to know about.

Don't get me wrong Stu, I'm not having a go, but you did say "live" and you have been bleating on all year about people who don't go regularly to games "don't know what they are talking about".

Incidentally, Cisse has looked very good this season (and in 2001/2002) from what I have seen him on Eurosport (if anyone has Sky Digital they'll know that there's loads of continental football on Sky) in fact, at times he he has looked amazing.

However, I thought the same about Diouff in 2002 and was absolutely sh1tting myself about the prospect of him coming to Anfield, but look what happened there.

Fingers crossed Cisse will do the business for us but its not guaranteed that he will and there's every chance he'll be another Diouff.

I still can't remember Boumsong's performance at Anfield (I was more looking out for Cisse that evening) but I agree that he looked excellent in Auxerre when we fluked a 1-0 win over there (remember Sammi's wonder goal!?!)
