Same thing happened with Jol when he told Berbatov he (Jol) was the manager. Berbatov replied yes but for how much longer.

For a start, is our club at the moment in any shape or form stable enough to allow any kind of manager to win the title? Ask yourself that. Then ask yourself this: can you say any manager coming in and winning the title in his first season with a very limited budget? Things have to get a lot better first for this to even be remotely possible. At this current time, I'd deem such a notion to be impossible.

Another thing, it's a daft question: of course if the new manager wins the title, it's a good thing. A very good thing. What happens? I get drunk and start phoning Manc supporters.

But what if? its only like saying it wont happen, for instance what if there is no money to spend because Rafa is already leaving at the end of the season to go to Milan?

On a side note, i can supply you with at least 30 numbers of Mancs to ring? and i'll join you for a pint!

So effectively all this talk from the players respecting rafa and trust in him is utter sh@t? Wouldnt that make key players at liverpool also liers?

No, DIC have suspended talks for now, but will be back.

But there is serious damage at the club.  We sold our soul, and now will pay the price.

I can only see disaster from here on.  Rafa will certainly be gone, and I believe soon.  Pushed/walks.. who cares.  He was the one man who could've turned us round, but the backing will be too late.  There will be a serious exodus of players too... those who are disillusioned with the future, the Rafa loyalists etc.  And the pitch at the moment could easily mean no European football next season.

All the pieces are in place for a crisis unlike anything we have ever faced.

It came from the decisions of 12 months ago, like it or not.

I don't particularly believe any of this, and is more speculative and negative on the poster's behalf, but I do agree that now we are in a situation the dwarfs the blackened times of the late Evans/Houllier reign.

Rafa will not survive this. The man cannot possibly concentrate on his job in such a harsh climate. The owners wanted him out, and now a lot of the fans are starting to. It's a f*cking disgrace. We as a football club and a fan base are falling from the prestige that we once held ourself to such a high order in.

The poster is dead right in that it all stems from the decision made last year. There is not a chance in hell that the position we are in at the current time could have come about or be contributed to a lack of competence on the manager's behalf. I simply refuse to give into that notion. Form is temporary, but class is permanent. An artist of any kind of craft or trade simply does not  become incapable over a period of time.

Players could also very well leave, and those who think Torres won't exit also need a reality check.

I hope Rafa goes on to bring us another CL, then walks! Why? Because how the club is being handled and supported deserves a  slap in the face. Say the new manager comes in and wins us nothing? Rafa will all of a sudden be a genius again to those that scorned him.

you cant call fans who want rafa out a discrace. We have supported him for 4 years and he hasnt brought a title challenge, how much longer can we wait?

How about one more year?

Take it to a massive 5 years!

OOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Im with redhaysey.
Ill support the team no matter what.

i would give him another year if i saw progress

but at the moment we play ugly football, we are so predictable, struggle to break teams down who defend deep, dont cut it against man utd, arsenal and chelsea in the league

so lets give him another year on that basis? yeah?

all this speculation is not for me,  ill wake up  hearing that rafa hasn't quit and the club isn't in crisis situation. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE DAY AFTER!?!?!?! :O

well....just have to wait and see i guess.  this season is not over dont forget. we're still in two cups and HAVE to qualify for champions league, whatever problems the powers that be put us in have to earn their money now to get us out of it

10 draws 3 loses half way through the season is not good enough for a Liverpool manager and thats that Im afraid.

If the players question the manager about wat he is doing it is getting to a point were it is becoming a joke !!! TBH

I had no respect for berbatov wen he said that to Jol as i dont have respect for Ronaldinho for not going to training sessions and going mad for not being picked in the first team !!!

But i feel Rafa will be gone soon enough as the pressure is becoming unbarable for any manager at this stage ...

Rafas going and when he does so do DIC so do a load of players.

Be prepared for a rough time ahead.

like i said ciggy i sincerly hope raffa doesn"t go!
but also if there is tough times ahead, i"m
sure you"d agree with me - lets face the tough times ahead
cause i strongly beleive we will come out of them bigger
& better as we are the best fans in the world!!
& it"s time to show our character, metal etc
that we can do just that. the yank tw&ts will never
own our club, cause that"s our pride & joy
& no amount of money will ever change that!

Lets all be honest about this. NOT ONE PERSON on an internet forum knows if Rafa will still be here, if Mascherano will be here or if Maureen will be taking over. So lets stop all the talk of wait and see and I know something you don't know talk because it really doesn't help, for the record I will say Rafa will not be going anywhere, I have as much chance, 50/50 to be exact of that coming true, there is no inside information in making a prediction of something that has as much chance being true as not and any other little gems of information along those lines should be put in the rumour thread !

As for the match I can only base our performance on the highlights I have just watched on MOTD, and from what I saw West Ham deserved to win. A lot of people on here predicted that we would lose or at the best get a draw so its no surprise to see them back that up with get rid of Rafa comments ( don't you just love being right ?)

Time for bed now anyway, tomorrow is another day and another rumour. I wonder what story the Daily Sport will decide to run. :p

I read it on TLW , Lakes said he read the same on a West Ham forum , so its certainly doing the rounds.
              -------------------------
Gerrard's reaction to the Lucas substitution?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hear that when Lucas came on Gerrard was asked to play on the right, and he shook his head and refused?

Is this true?

Says a lot, but even I'd back Rafa on this one and I'm one of his biggest critics. The superstar is more effective for us playing from the right and if he wasn't so determined to be in the middle he could be our Ronaldo. I wish Rafa was strong enough to play him on the right but it's too late now anyway, he won't win this battle.
