WEST BROMWICH ALBION VS LIVERPOOL - Sunday 17th may 13.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If I could choose any team in the world to loose to at this present moment in time, it would be West Brom.

I think they will come at us all guns blazing and maybe even score a goal but still cant see them winning.

Hopefully we can win this by a nice goal margin and bag 2nd place.

Hope the lads' heads don't drop tomorrow.  We still need to earn second place and keep the gap between us and the Mancs to a minimum.  The psychological impact of finishing off strong will be important as a platform for next year.  Perhaps more importantly, we'll go right into the CL group stages for once.

Not playing the Third Round Qualifier will be a big boost to our season IMO Bob. For a change we won't be taking an eye off our league games for the sake of this game, pure focus on the league.

Indeed, mate, and the level of competition that we could face in that qualifier after the UEFA rule change would mean we'd really be taking our eye off the league ball in August.  Drawing the likes of Villareal or Roma that early would not be setting ourselves up for league success.

we have already wrapped it up because top 3 go straight to group stages, and its not as dangerous as you might think because there is still seeding.

should give you a nice visual idea

I think I would play:
                       Reina
Darby       Carra       Hyypia    Insua
              Alonso    Lucas
  Yossi             Gerrard            Babel
                       Torres

subs: Cavalieri, Kelly, Agger, Mascherano, El Zhar, N'Gog, Nemeth

You'd play Lucas for what reason exactly, pity perhaps?  :D

Ahh, nice one Joe.  That sets the mind at ease a little, although I still think the lads will want to finish the season strong and send a message to themselves, the supporters and their competition that they will be a force to be reckoned with in the league next season.  Let's batter West Brom and Tottenham in style...none of this drawing 0-0 at home to limp across the line p!sh. :D

Regardless of the league being done now we should still win this one.

Too much quality and we are in great form so think it will be similar to the west ham game last week imo.

Dont think Sami will start this one but he should be in for the Spurs game with that being the last game of the season at anfield.

Well whatever happens tomoz I'll be there singing my heart out :D

The summary of this season will be done to death eleswhere I suspect but when you consider that this is the first time in the history of the football League that the winners have lost twice as many games as the runners up so well done to the Mancs for their mighty "achievement" ! ???

Utd haven't won the League , we lost it and wouldn't it be an irony if it ends up in a draw tomorrow ! :O
