depends on how much we get him for? if we're gonna splurge on him , then i say keep the money and look at better options and cheaper ones too . the yanks are already acting like paupers and not giving us huge transfer funds . 40 mill , isn't alot if u look at how much chelsea spent to rebuild their team in their first season with the roman takeover , we have the quality yes , one or two more signings will ensure that we win the league without a doubt , mainly a cheap centre back and a winger who can play on both flanks .. Robben is a very good example but would cost a bomb, and he's very young and talented , first season at chelsea was an example , injured but yet still scored and created goal

Simple question, who would you trust regards transfers and transfer policies - Rafa or G & H? If anyone says G & H then I have to ask why you aren't calling for Rafa's head since for him to know less than them wouldn't make him a very good manager.

I can't start a new topic as haven't been a member long enough, so as this is about transfers, after watching Warnock play for Blackburn this season I feel we have made a mistake in letting him go, this is a position we do struggle for consistancy in and think he has been brilliant so far for Blackburn. Also do you think Torres and Defoe could play together??

defoe and torres cannot play with each other firstly they both have the pace and will chase for balls that are pumped to them , they have a similar style of play . secondly torres needs someone to create for him and i don't think defoe is the 2nd creative striker that we require , also defoe is not the greates of finsihers , compared between kuyt i taker kuyt any day , as kuyt can surely do better then defoe does and also kuyt can score from penalties unlike defoe  :p  , as for warnock, the only thing that he did well was score that goal , and we cannot confirm that if we had kept warnock , that he would be playing or scoring like that for us , i don't think he has done his defensive duties well , letting in 2 goals against a very mediocre fulham side , cristiano would run rings around him , as warnock is young and lacks the experience of mre skillful had pacy players like torres or ronaldo

A centreback I would like us to sign is Diego Lugano. He's strong, good in the air, and a great tackler.  We were supposedly interested in him a few years ago, but they were asking too much money. I've read that he might go to Athletico Madrid for around 4 million. I think that's a good price for him. His career has sort of stagnated recently after moving to a Turkish club, but I think he could start showing himself as a top defender again. He was voted the best foreigner in Brazil a couple of times when he was playing in that league, and I was watching the Brazilian national team game the other day where they played against Uruguay and he was absolutely immense in the 2nd half.  I don't think it's a bad shout. I think he's decent back up for Carragher and Agger..

Kaladze would be great also, don't get me wrong. :D

Now Rick Parry's in charge of transfers again, I hear that we may be able to get Diao back if we play our cards right.

:D

The best signing we could possibly make is Mascherano.

I do not believe we should bring anyone else in. Let the new players we have settle in and give the squad a chance.

We are unbeaten and it is virtually december - it aint broke, dont fix it.

A few poor performances do not make a squad of world class players bad.

The fact is we have'nt played that badly this season however there are weaknesses that Rafa knows he must put right.  Just after Agger got injured Liverpool played Porto they were going all guns in the premiership by pushing high up the pitch and pressing teams deep into there own half.  Rafa was gamboling that young Agger had the pace to get back in and cover.  He also knew that Carraghers ability to read the game would also compensate for defensive errors, therefore he had pace and experience.  Initially they tried to play high up th epitch against Porto but Hypia got caught for pace, The defense did not panic but they did start to over compensate and lie deep.  In games were the opponents lack pace we have been comfortable but were teams have pace and a midfield that supports the forwards we have struggled.  Rafa had Agger as Carraghers partner with Hypia as cover and maybe even playing against the slower forwards or overly defensive midfield.  Rafa Knows he needs either a center half or a left back who can get in round the back of Sami.  He knows that if his rotation system is going to work then he needs to be able to cover all angles.  I think he has the players apart from left back and an additional center half.  If you analyse the area in a game were many teams are weak its left midfield, left back.  (Even England suffers big time in this department) I think Rafa still has an eye on Heinze he would free Aberlado to rotate with Finnan.   Riise is really a midfielder with useful defensive qualities but all in all like Finnan they are journey men.  Don't get me wrong they have been excellent servants of Liverpool, however the but suffer from what carragher suffers from when playing right back, namely the inability to go by people most of the time.  If you watch Finnan (he has improved and is prepared to get round the back of defenders) about 40% of the time he will either turn in field or will stop and lay the ball of and then make a run.  This works when Gerrard gets the ball but sometimes it goes to Carragher and then either gets pumped long or is sprayed across the back QED end of attack! This only happens whenthey lie deep, when the push high up the pitch Finnan and Riise play like to wingers, they can do this because they have less ground to make up if an attack fails.
