Was cisse better than bellamy? - He scored some vital goals

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Cisse scored some goals in a team that was very strong last year and went on 2 fabulous winning runs in the league. Bellamy has struggled in a side that has struggled.

my mate said to me

"name me better right mids than pennant in the premiership" so i said.....

ronaldo
hleb
wright phillips
lennon
joe cole or robben (both could play right)
arteta (playing this season more mid mid)
bently
agbonlahor (has played there for most of the season)

so i was shocked really, we are liverpool, we should have players in the "top 4 in their position" bracket all over the pitch

same goes for left mid

Love or hate rafa....the truth is cisse was treated pretty badly last season. If rafa had shown more faith on cisse (like how he shows faith for morientes, crouch, alonso when they were on a bad patch), he could have scored much more than 19 goals......

As for the debate cisse vs bellamy.... Let me put it this way. Cisse is more of a goal threat than bellamy.

i hope players like cisse and pongolle go off and make it HUGE just to prove rafa wrong

both have the ability

i honestly think cisse will end up a world class footballer, you see those old clips of him in france and a confident cisse was a completley diffrent prospect.

Cisse, a world class player?

He has a first touch of a brick wall. You could take clips of anyone and make them look good even Traore.

Pongolle is on loan in Spain and has done alright, even he's a better footballer than Cisse.

Treated bad? He was the laziest player on the pitch whenever he played so why should he deserve to start a game week in and week out?

He showed no signs of improvement when it came down to his work rate let alone ability.

He was a very limited footballer who as Luke said scored goals in a said that had a good season. Bellamy is playing in a side where one of the best players of the world couldn't score in a brothel at the moment.

these were not just clips

these were a series of wonder goals

trying things you only try when you know your team and manager has confidence in you

Cisse is a better player than what we saw, but so was morientz. some players just arent suited to certain teams. doesnt make them any less of a player, just the way things happen sometimes.

If cisse and Pongolle had stayed we could have used the crouch bellamy money + the 6 on pennant to buy a player who is one of the top in the premiership.  Who do you figure we could have gotten for 18 mil?

At the very least the combination of Cisse and Pongolle is as good as Crouch Bellamy.

i like the potential of pongolle but still his goal record for us and blackburn on loan is dismall

i would never take him over crouch or bellamy

Just look at Bellamy at B/burn he was good he just needs time to settle. As for Cisse he had time to settle and was still shipped out !

So because he scored some wonder goals he's an amazing football player?

The French League in general is poor. Apart from Lyon there is no class teams in that league. The fact of the matter that Bourdeux finished 2nd last season says it all, they are one of the worst sides we've played in Europe in years.

i just think our style of play doesnt suit bellamy

we play a kinda slow passing game

bellamy needs direct balls using his pace to get the best out of him
