supersub wrote:Once again Sky Sports News research a statistic that makes no sense in the real world and want to present it as an amazing fact and a reason why Liverpool only lie 4th in the League, are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and are in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
Sky's amazing piece of info is that without Torres and Gerrard we would be 10th in the Premiership, which is pretty good going for a team of nine men.Apparently if you wiped their goals from our stats then the points tally would be affected by 7 ,leaving us on 32 points.Incredible!
But of course they never thought to use this wonderful piece of ingenuity for the teams above us ,just to make the comparison and to give their silly statistic league a bit of credibility. So I have done it for them using their formula of removing the top two scorers from each of the teams in turn.

MANU lose Ronaldo & Tevez which in turn costs them 16 points and would put them in 9th position in todays league table.

ARSENAL lose Adebayor & Fabregas and the 20 points they secured for the Gunners meaning they would drop to 11th place in todays table.

CHELSEA lose Drogba & Lampard and like Liverpool lose 7 points but their position stays unchanged 3rd.

So in retrospect the satistics Sky have unearthed and will no doubt discuss in depth are a load of b.*ll*c*ks.Hopefully the penny will drop and the cockney researcher will be sent back to kids TV

Manhattan also thought it was a dumb statistic.

It's like saying that without Gerd Muller's 13 World Cup goals, Gerd Muller would have scored 0 goals in the World Cup.

Looking at it again, Torres and Gerrard have only scored about 51% of our goals while Ronaldo and Tevez have scored 59% of Utd's goals.

I blame Torres and Gerrard for us being out of the title race already.

With their constant sniping at our club, I wonder how the b*stards would react if every Liverpool fan canceled their Sky subscription?

I bet they'd soon start kissing our a*se...

If i am off on a Saturday and bored i watch soccer sat before the games with Thommo and Merson and that.
Well they all slag us and wind Thompson up every week. Stelling is the worst.
Two weeks running he has baited Thompson about Man City, he asked Thommo whether City were serious contenders for fourth, Thompson replied not at all and pointed to the game at Eastlands a few weeks ago when they stuck every man behind the ball playing 1 up front at home.
Stelling smugly said to him what was the score ?
Ignoring the fact that City could of tried to attack and possibly gone above us with a victory.

Proper wound me up, sly little digs all of the time. Only one team tried to win that game and still they try and criticise.

You all need to drop this Liverpool conspiracy :censored: (half of you lot aren't from Liverpool), we get more than our fair share of games on Sky and the money with it, so if you dont want the television money you can support a :censored: team, or your local team
