Funny how everyone seems to prefer Warnock to Traore at left back, when Traore is probably playing as well as ever.

Cisse, Biscan, Carson Warnock/Traore, Garcia looks like the best bench for ages.

I'd controversially rest Luis Garcia because I think he's wasted on the wing and would be better being kept for a 4-4-1-1 in the CL.  His best performances have been between midfield and attack.  I reckon we need an orthodox 4-4-2 for Pompey because a draw is no good, we need to keep the game open.

I wouldn't rest players who are currently playing well, particularly with so few games left.  I'd stick with Garcia, he's played quite well recently.

I agree in general terms that I wouldn't rest players who are playing well.  However, Garcia isn't playing particularly well on the right and I don't think we should play 4-4-1-1 in a game we need to win.  We've already been far too defensive away from home this season.  Gerrard has hardly crossed the half-way line away from Anfield.  So I'd put the shape of the team before individuals.

the fact that bolton only drew last night is an absolute lifeline for us. we have to win tonight otherwise everton's result is completely irrelevant. if we win and everton lose we will go fourth even though everton have a game in hand. mind you, that game in hand is against arsenal at highbury.

I like how you have Carson both of starting 11 and the bench and how Baros is ommitted in the 16 man squad. The lineup will most likely be:
*Warnock has picked up another knock and would not expected to feature (at least on the bench). Morientes is still not considered to be 100% match fit. Baros comes back from 3 match suspension.
