Villa sacks agent - ... if the investment comes...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby haps » Thu Oct 29, 2009 9:23 pm

I've always been more of a reader than a contributor to Newkit. I love my club dearly and enjoy others' bickering, wisdom, outcry and ecstasy on this forum.  This news has me a tad excited.  I know we have no money.  I know Cheech and Chong are still around promising stadiums and players and delivering little.  But if we can get that mega investor, so heavily rumoured to be about to get involved ... we have to, have to, have to buy this guy.  i know City will already have a guy on a plane with a vault of money and the Scum will be shifting up gears to get what they badly need - a top top class striker.  BUT ... and it's a big but, Villa wants to play with Nando.  He wouldn't say no to joining up with Rafa either.  I think he's said in the past that in the EPL, Liverpool would be his choice (please correct me) so I, for one, am praying, as only an atheist can that the stars align for us and this boy comes to Anfield in January.  With Pepe, Masch, Stevie, Benni, Aqua and Villa, we'll be champions in May.  Forget 4 defeats already.  And the scum will be waiting a long long time to get back on terms.

oh... forgot to mention.  He sacked his agent because he didn't get him a move away during the summer.  Probably important that bit...

He wants to stay in Spain doesn't he? How old is he, will be able to adapt to this league quick enough?

He's class but if he gets an offer in Spain he'll stay where he is IMO

Personally I think the figures that were being banded about are way over inflated anyway for someone his age. 20Mil 23 maybe max but otherwise feck that. If we get investment id rather we splash it on someone young like Torres who can also play in other positions, someone like Balotelli.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I would love him in our squad just as much as anyone, but I think for a price of what.. 30 million? We can afford David Silva and a fairly decent backup striker to torres for that amount.

And if we did buy Villa he would want to be starting every match..

I don't care where he goes as long as it's not to the mancs, who are reported to be in for Silva also.

The kind of figures I saw for BOTH was the kind of figure I saw for either in the summer.

Don't care if he is 28. If we win the league in the next three years, it wont matter the price or his age. Villa is one of the best strikers in world football, top 5 for sure, I think that puts him above such things as adapting to a new league. Maybe he wont be quite AS prolific as in Spain but seriously people, for an upgrade, ALL WE NEED IS SOMEONE BETTER THAN N'GOG!, and I don't care if all his family bother him every day about moving back to spain and he doesn't learn a single English word and gets sick from the food and hates the weather, he would still be better than N'gog (and I am not an N'gog hater)

Yeah, prolific, that's me.
Was going to say something about the reserves too but think I'll wait a year or two for that.  Give it some thought.   :D
