Is there a reason why Gerrard isn't part of your line up?

well i would play welsh instead. Welsh might be worse than biscan now, but i can see welsh improving soon (with enuff games) and establishing himself.

As for Biscan....What you see is what you get.

Le Tallec and Smicer return

TOP STORIES
· Baros: I am going nowhere
· Reds fans given usual seats at Cardiff
· Pongo fears confirmed
· Alonso out for season
· Carson completes deal.

Anthony Le Talec and Vladimir Smcer made their Liverpool comebacks on Satirdat when they played for the reserves against Aston Villa.

The Reds went down 4-0, but Le Tallec, returning from his loan spell in France showed good attitude as a lone striker, and worked hard.

Vladimir Smicer came off the bench and was denied a superb goal by a great save from the Villa keeper. The Czech star will be hoping to build his fitness over the coming month.

Despie te result, it is a timely boost for Liverpool injury hit squad.

Biscan to play Tuesday against Charlton
Added by James Roberts on 30 January 2005 | Discuss in forums | Have you read today's Kopblog?

Due to injury to Xabi Alonso and a one-match suspension to Dietmar Hamann, Croatian Igor Biscan will start in the center of midfield along with captain Steven Gerrard.

The 26-year old midfielder's contract expires at the end of this season, and he will be looking to stake a claim to renew it with an impressive performance against 6th placed Charlton who are even with the Reds with points.

With a win, Liverpool can close in on Merseyside rivals Everton who currently occupy 4th place; and overtake Charlton and Middlesbrough (who are both even with Liverpool at 37 points.)

The Reds won the opposite fixture at Anfield in October by the score of 2-0 after goals by John Arne Riise and Luis Garcia.

Charlton and Liverpool are both coming off Cup wins (albeit in different competitions), with Charlton winning 3-2 against Yeovil in the FA Cup and Liverpool winning 1-0 away at Watford in the Carling Cup.

If murphy had stayed, he would have played a sh1t load of games for us at right wing seeing his competition for that postions were nunez & garcia ..........

He should tried being humble (similar to finnan). Now he is @ charlton. His career is safe, but he ain't gonna be picked for england playing there...

Super Dan will never forgive Rafa

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy says he'll never forgive Rafael Benitez for letting him leave the club, even though the manager offered him the chance to stay and fight for a place in the side.

Murphy will come face to face with the Reds on Tuesday when Liverpool take on Charlton in the Premiership. Ironically both teams are tied on points and are desperately fighting for that vital 4th place.

"Whether I play for Liverpool or not, I've always been a fan and always will be," said Murphy. "I'll never thank Benitez for wanting to get rid of me. I was upset at the time, I don't mind admitting that. It was something I didn't expect.

"I thought about fighting for my place, long and hard. But I came to the conclusion that do I want to playing under a manager that doesn't have 100 per cent confidence or belief in me.

"But that's football. I try to focus on the positives of what I did contribute at Anfield over those years and I think's that's generally good.

"Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't regret leaving. I feel now at Charlton I'm near my best again. Not quite where I want to be, but not far off.

"I feel physically I'm at my best, mentally I feel settled - and I'm settled off the pitch."

Murphy was our MANC BUSTER
But he ended up being a squad player no better or worse than some still at anfield.
I think when his international days where over so was his game.
But he is playing well now, just hope he doesnt have a blinder on tuesday nite.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Benitez didn't want Murphy at the club according to Murphy so he couldn't had stayed

I think that Murphy was an average player but being English and a Liverpool  fan, gave 100%. Although I felt sad when he left, I felt he was not skillful enough for Liverpool. With all the injuries we have had, and the apparent lack of fighting spirit in the team, it would have been nice to see how he might have improved under raffa.
