This won't mask the disappointment of been beaten by the Chavs in the semi final but Liverpool are officially the No1 team in Europe.

From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

no we're not.

If you read it we're actually 3rd...

"The Reds are currently third behind AC Milan and Chelsea in UEFA's official rankings"

It say IF we do well next season then we MIGHT be number 1 in europe.

We are behind chelsea at the moment, so for whatever reason, if Chelsea do better than us next season - Then they'll be number 1.

It's hard to give credence to those rankings since, like it or not, the mancs have won the Premiership two seasons in a row and won the European Cup so I can see no reason why they should be behind us. We haven't won a trophy in the past two seasons, maybe those who reckon Rafa deserves a "last chance" should consider that reality. No trophy, not even second in the league, but we had two nice little runs in the Champions League so that makes everything ok..........................

Perhaps it shows the flaws in the rankings, the mancs made the semis last year and won it this, we were runners-up and reached the semis (same as Chelsea) so they've bested us in England and Europe. It probably goes back too far, either way I'd question the worth and accuracy

AC Milan I could understand, but Chavski?

How many European Cup finals have they been in?

One, and they lost.

And it was an embarrassing loss as well. Their only shot at Champions League glory in their entire history, and they blow it because their Captain can't keep his footing and their most clinical player gets a red card for hitting slapping an opponent. Shameful.

I still don't understand how we lost to such a poor team

The system is flawed.  They shouldn't base the results over 5 seasons.  Celtic have got to the last 16 of the CL 2 year son the trot yet are 52nd.  Below Rangers, Everton, Newcastle, Bolton and Spurs.  Makes no sense!!!

Could be to do with Celtic's woeful away record, who knows? All ranking systems have glaring errors in them, the less noticeable the better the system.
