Traore - Why was he playing?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

looked at the team selection before the leicester game yesterday and saw that traore was playing at left back in place of riise. this finally confirmed to me that gerard houllier has gone senile. if the guy seriously thinks that traore and that waster biscan are in anyway good enough to wear the red shirt he is deluded. what the hell was he doing in the starting eleven? was riise injured or something?

You get a horrible sinking feeling when you see Biscan's name on the starting line-up, just like with Cheyrou up until about 3 months ago.

When Traore and Biscan were playing at the same time I thought it would be trouble!

the problem with cheyrou was everyone jumped on his back because they expected too much too soon (partly due to houllier building him up). i remember alan green on five live saying that he thought biscan was twice the player cheyrou was. wonder what he thinks now. ???

Traore has decent pace but not a lot else. He is not comfortable witht he ball at his feet and his distribution is very poor. For me, Traore is a centre-back who can make last ditch blocks or tackles + keep it very simple. Ask him to carry the ball out, or push on and he is a disaster waiting to happening .
