I was joking Ciggs.

He must be laughing at this. If Alonso is out, Lucas is injured and Masch might be to tired to play, chances are he would have got his game.  :D

well if were not in such a bad state in the league we would not be having to worry too much about this injury.

Who said otherwise mate?

Just reading a few posts before the earlier games in the match thread and on RAWK. Some people were already bemoaning that Rafa would and could bemoan the Internationals (as he already has) and use it as an excuse if we lose.

Having key plays injured in games that they really don't need to play in would be a reasonable gripe regardless.

Yet another example of why you need a strong squad even if does mean millions of pounds sitting on the bench

Internations can't be used an excuse because every club loses players to internationals. It just seems it's always our players who come back struggling.

Torres' injury, with any luck he'll be back for the Inter game, just have to hope and pray.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

When you are playing other sides that a stock full of internationals you are quite right. In that regard its probably better to play a team like Chelsea rather then some of smaller clubs straight after international break

It unforutnately just part of the game and managers have to deal with it

I couldn't agree more pal. Internationals like everything else in football is an excuse. We all look for one when things aren't going right, other than holding our hands up and saying well done to the other team (not always the case because we can have some bad luck at times i.e. chelsea at Anfield this season) but 9 times out of 10 we have to give other sides credit other than blame the smallest things.

Well the Spanish FA doctor has said that Torres felt like a sharp of pain, but it seems it's not an important muscular injury, he said it to "not being important". I understand by this brief words that he shouldn't have problems to play within the next days.

Good news, we didn't need this.
