Fabio Capello is better than Mourinho. Milan, Juve, Real Madrid...

I thought people didn't want to talk about Mourinho any more ??? I think in the case of Capello, he's obviously got a fantastic record on the continent. That said, I think the poll is largely to do with British based managers, and mainly English based ones at that. That's my excuse for moving Jock Stein aside, I'd put kenny into his slot. For me, the list then looks about right.

Must we mention Mourinho in every thread? FWIW I agree that Kenny Dalglish should be in there, winning the league with two different teams is a marvellous achievement. People wrongly said he "bought the league" at Blackburn, when in actual fact that wasn't the case, as it rarely is.

Kenny should definately be in there. That said, since you bring him up, as the holder of the record points total in English football history, Mourinho probably should too. It's hard when you look at it as my instinct would be to knock Alf Ramsey out but then he did win the World Cup so you can't really. Just having a great bunch of players doesn't bring any certainties, as Sven and Shteve proved.

Jock Stein. He's the one, jib him and get Kenny into seventh or wherever it is.

The same jock stein who was the first ever british manager to win the european cup ? and countless number of titles with celtic ? nope stays in there . sorry i know you love him but maureen doesnt deserve to be in that list record points or not .

  :D Just keeping a check on things Eff. People don't want to read lots of comments on certain subjects then insist on constantly commenting on them themselves, or starting threads about them.

As for GYBS's last post there where he talks about Jock Stein and the other bloke who he doesn't lkie people talking about, we'll have to agree to differ I think, but that's OK  :;): .

Jock Stein won the european cup with Glasgow players.  Shankly and Busby looked up to him as a genius.  I dont think shoving him to one side does justice to the man

I think what Mick was meaning is the rest of the managers are in the list for what they did in English football(?). Stein is the only one in there for what he did in Scottish football.

If that was the case s@int - he wouldn't even register on that list.

Imagine winning the Champs League with players born within 25 miles of the city?............

Ok if no Jockos allowed in then fair enough.  For me Clough and Paisley as they achieved the most at a time of fairly equal wealth and mostly British based players.  Shankly and Busby although are totally iconic figures and for good reasons as well and I begrudgingly admire Ferguson for his Aberdeen days :D

Wenger transformed premiership football and when Arsenal played at the top of their game it was beautiful as was Kennys liverpool sides and 88 was indeed a vintage year.

Nicholson is a Spurs legend and did do the double at a time when it was a once in a blue moon thing to do but Im not interested in Spurs now let alone 40 years ago so know nothing about him

Maybe the Leeds guy from the 60s and 70s could be in with a shout

On a slightly side note, has there been any successful Welsh managers in English football apart from Toshack Taff? I was just thinking we have had a few successful Irish, obviously lots of successful Scottish and English, but off the top of my head Tosh was the only Welsh one that came to mind.

Terry Yorath had a go for a bit S@int and did alright until the absolutely tragic death of his son. Can't think of any others, maybe Giggs will give it a go once the legs completely pack in. He's always seemed like quiite a level headed fella, just a question of whether he'd be up for it I guess.

Yorath was treated badly the Welsh FA who then hired Bobby Gould  .  A warning Bigmick sometimes its better the devil you know :D

Tosh has a good record and Hughes, Coleman and one or two others are good prospects although we have never had any giants unlike the Scottish who have produced some real gems

Toshack got the record for the most goals scored in a Spanish League, for Real.

Then got sacked. :D

Feck me dopey b0ll0cks I completely forgot about Hughes and Coleman, I rate em both. Not that interesting fact, Coleman is one big fecker. He used to be around Wimbledon Village quite a lot, (nice fella too) and is much much bigger than he looks on the telly.

As for the "better the devil you know" bit Taff, I've no idea what you mean mate. Even if I did, I wouldn't talk about it  :D .
