Tommo to take over - We already have a good replacement

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think we all agree Houllier has now got to go, yesterday being the final straw. What we need is someone who is passionate about our club again like all our previous successful mangers. Phil Thompson is visably hurting like we are, the man has already had a successful run with the first team and has proved him self at all levels(including champions league) it was Houllier who took Didi off against Leverkusen that was the beginning of the end! Lets get back to boot room polices and play some exiciting football again.THOMMO FOR MANAGER,Steve Heighway for number two.

Thompson would just be like Evans, we dont need a rookie manager we need someone who has a perfect managerial record like O'neill.

yeah this whole houllier philosophy of hiring or buying "potential" just doesn't cut it. we need a proven successful man who can improve players.

Who has been standing next to GH all this time ? He (PT) will do whatever he has to do for PT, with an ego bigger than his nose
"And how many caps have you got ? " that's the way to encourage young players !

Yes I think Thompson is too similar in outlook and tactics to Houllier. He did a great job when Houllier was ill but he always knew that Houllier was coming back and he was just a caretaker manager. I have doubts about how he would handle certain big name players and am not sure whether he would walk away if Houllier was shown the door.
If you see the recent piece from Big Al and what skills and experience  the next Liverpol manager needs ; then you would have to be realistic and admit that Thommo is not the man.

Tommo is no way the man. Hes just not the got the presence or experience. We really will be in trouble if he takes charge. Not even god can save us if hes given the job.

Yer and he should never have gone either. Still pains me to see him at another club. He should still be with us, and somehow seeing him with any other team still seems odd to me. But as for Tommo, noooooooooo  :(

I don't think Phil Thompson will be offered the job to manage Liverpool.

Why would Capello consider Spurs instead of LFC?  Our board must have picked the successor for Houllier.

If gh goes then there must be a complete clear out! and that means taking thommo, sammy lee, and joe corrigan with him they have all had their day in my opinion they have served their time, we need fresh blood, with fresh ideas, and we wont get them with thommo and sammy lee hanging around? :(
